More than 630 people with disabilities receive free surgery from friendship cooperation programs

On 6 Dec, Provincial General Hospital in collaboration with IL Woong Korean Humanitarian Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery Association held a review of the surgery program in 2019 and celebrated 25 years of friendship cooperation (1995-2019).

The surgery program for patients with facial disabilities in this year, organized by the two above organizations, took place from 29 Nov to 12 Dec 2019 at Provincial General Hospital. This year, the delegation examined, selected and conducted free surgeries for 35 patients; of which the youngest patients were only 3 months old, bringing the total number of patients undergoing surgery over the past 25 years to 634 cases. Over the 25-year surgical cooperation program, IL WOONG Cleft Lip and Palate Association awarded many valuable medical equipment and tools  to Provincial General Hospital with a total value of about $220,000.Particularly in 2019, the delegation presented to Provincial General Hospital three surgical kits worth about $7,000, contributing to improving the quality of dental treatment.

On this occasion, Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 4 collectives and 9 individuals, who had contributed, supported, organized, and participated in cleft palate surgery for poor patients in Binh Duong province over 25 years.
