* DVLR marks 10th founding anniversary
Binh Duong province yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on friendship and cooperation with Laos’Champasak province for the 2016-2020 period at a ceremony organized in the Lao locality.

Attending the ceremony were Nguyen Huu Tu, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee; Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee together with some former leaders and representatives of some sectors, departments in the province. For Champasak, there were Bounthong Divixay, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee; Bounlin Vongphachanh, Deputy Governor of the province together representatives of sectors and departments in the province.
At the ceremony, the two sides informed each other of their economic development and assessed the result of bilateral cooperation for the 2011-2015 period. Despite difficulties, the two provinces continued reaching stable steps in socio-economic development. Binh Duong actively supported computers, a series of works to serve the 25th SEA Games in Laos with a total expense of US$947,000; implemented a project on planting 10,000 hectares of rubber trees in Champasak; assisted the Lao locality in training human resources…Meanwhile, leaders of Champasak also supported Dau Tieng Viet-Lao Rubber Joint Stock Company (DVLR) to realize its project on planting 10,000 hectares of rubber trees; organized many delegations to visit and learn experience in Binh Duong.
Upholding achievements done, the two sides discussed and signed a MOU on cooperation for the 2016-2020 period with important contents. The two sides will continue organizing delegations to visit and exchange mutual experience; support Thu Dau Mot and Champasak universities in activities of education and training…Especially, Binh Duong will assist Champasak to map out modern industrial development policies, zone and build industrial parks.
*On the afternoon of the same day, DVLR organized a ceremony to mark its 10th founding anniversary in Champasak province’s Pakse, in attendance of Mai The Trung, former Secretary of Binh Duong provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Huu Tu, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee.
Based on the cooperation between Binh Duong-Champasak and Binh Duong- Salavan, DVLR was established to plant 20,000 hectares of rubber trees in the two Lao localities with a total charter capital of VND400billion. In 2013, DVLR officially put 868.22 hectares of rubber trees into exploitation. The company’s total rubber area under exploitation has so far reached more than 3,853.4 hectares. Its total output of rubber latex in 2016 is estimated at 5,100 tons with the average productivity of 1.33 tons per hectare. The company has also set up a rubber latex processing factory with the annual capacity of 9,000 tons; got involved in such social welfare works as making rural roads, drilling wells upgrading schools…
Also at the ceremony, DVLR was awarded the first and second-class Labor Medals of the President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic; the certificates of merit of the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Vietnam Rubber Group, Binh Duong, Champasak and Salavan. On this occasion, Binh Duong provincial People’s Committee also presented a laudatory writing with words: “DVLR-10 years of solidarity, renewal and development” for the 2016-2020 period.
