Binh Duong Power Company has coordinated with Lego Manufacturing Vietnam Company to organize the acceptance and put into operation the 110kV transformer station project of Lego Factory with a capacity of 2x40MVA and 110kV line located in VSIP 3. In addition, a series of 110kV power projects are also being accelerated by the company, striving to have at least 11 power projects put into operation by 2024. Binh Duong Newspaper interviewed Nguyen Trung Thu, Deputy Director of PCBD about this issue.
In 2024, PCBD accelerates the implementation of many power projects to meet the electricity demand for industrial production in the province.
- Sir, the Lego Group project is a project that attracts the attention of investors and FDI enterprises. What does the early completion of technical infrastructure and electrical works to serve the project mean?
- Recently, to ensure power supply for industrial production, industrial zones and clusters in the area, especially key business customers, Binh Duong electricity industry has continuously paid attention and invested in electrical projects. Namely, at large projects such as the Lego Factory in VSIP 3, the electricity industry has coordinated to carry out construction to ensure a safe and consistent power supply for the factory to officially operate from the beginning of 2025. In recent years, to put electricity ahead to serve development, the Provincial Department of Industry and Trade in general and PCBD in particular have had specific planning orientations on electricity demands to work with the province to complete the technical infrastructure, especially electrical works serving industrial production, the province's key economic sector.
On March 25, 2024, PCBD coordinated with Lego Manufacturing Vietnam Company to organize the acceptance of the Lego Factory 110kV transformer station project with a capacity of 2x40MVA and 110kV line located in VSIP 3. The successful energization of the Lego 110kV transformer station is one of the major milestones of the Lego Factory project, promptly providing electricity to serve the testing of production units and equipment before putting them into operation.
The above results show that agencies, departments and the electricity industry of Binh Duong province have completed the technical infrastructure in general and the 110kV transformer station in particular for the Lego Group project as soon as possible for the factory to be put into trial operation by the end of 2024 and be officially commissioned in early 2025. From there, it once again affirms that ensuring electricity supply is extremely important, contributing to creating confidence for investors coming to Binh Duong.
- Can you share more information about typical electrical works and projects that have been and are being implemented in 2024. What significance do these projects have for ensuring electricity supply to serve industrial production in the province?
- Recently, PCBD coordinated with units to complete the project of 110kV 220kV Ben Cat station. After energizing, the 110kV power grid from Ben Cat 220kV station was linked in a loop with the 110kV power grid, My Phuoc 220kV station and neighboring stations, helping to increase the reliability of power supply for An Tay 110kV stations and 110kV Kien Dien that were energized on April 26, 2024. This helps enhance and ensure power supply for loads in Protrade International Industrial Park, Viet Huong Industrial Park, Rach Bap Industrial Park and many industrial loads outside the Industrial Park.
In addition, the project of upgrading the 110kV line of 220kV station Ben Cat 2 - Lai Hung - Lai Uyen has contributed to strengthening and ensuring power supply for the increased load needs of the Bau Bang area and companies of Polytex Far Eastern VN, Kolon, and in the near future will meet the increasing demands of these customers' 110kV stations. Specifically, Kolon transformer station from 2x15MVA to 3x15MVA and Vien Dong 1x63MVA to 2x63MVA, are expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2024.
In the first 6 months of 2024, PCBD also completed energizing Khanh Van 110kV stations (March 21, 2024), contributing to increasing power supply for load areas in Tan Uyen City and Thuan An City; Thoi An 110kV station was energized on June 2, 2024, contributing to increasing power supply to the load of My Phuoc 3 and My Phuoc 4 Industrial Parks.
- Could you tell us more about your future plans to ensure electricity for production areas in the province?
- By the end of 2024, PCBD will coordinate with the Southern Power Project Management Board to organize the energization of the VSIP 2 110kV MRII station and the 110kV Cong Xanh station to ensure power supply for businesses in the VSIP 2 expansion and Tan Binh Industrial Park. Besides, PCBD will focus on some key solutions, such as: Continue to implement plans to ensure electricity supply approved by the Provincial People's Committee; closely monitor the situation of increased grid load to have solutions for guaranteed grid operation in conditions of limited grid power and the current full and overloaded grid to ensure the best possible power supply.
In addition, PCBD continues to strengthen the inspection of the power grid, connection status, deflection, ground phase distance, grid safety corridor of the power grid to handle it immediately, ensuring adequate electricity supply. At the same time, PCBD makes a transmission plan to limit overloading of the power grid in the area while waiting for the 110kV transformer stations, and does a good job of reducing reactive power from the 110kV grid; continues to enhance advocacy, monitoring and reminding customers to shift load to the signed time frame to avoid increasing peak capacity, especially iron and steel production customers. The company will also strengthen propaganda and check electricity saving practices for customers through appropriate forms for customer groups; accelerate the completion of 110kV, medium and low voltage power grid projects to ensure sufficient and reliable electricity supply for production areas in the province.
- Thank you Sir!
Recently, PCBD has closely coordinated with power project management units and local authorities to carry out investment preparations for power projects under the direction of the Southern Power Corporation, and at the same time regularly report implementation progress to the Provincial People's Committee to promptly direct authorities to assist in removing difficulties to speed up the progress of compensation and site clearance. These projects are also being accelerated, striving to have eleven 110kV power projects put into operation by 2024 to ensure electricity supply to serve socio-economic development in the province. |
