North Tan Uyen well realizes support programs for disadvantaged people

In the first nine months of 2024, North Tan Uyen district mobilized resources to implement programs to support poor, near-poor and those just escaping poverty. Specifically, the district created favorable conditions for 2,344 poor, near-poor households  and those just escaping  poverty to get over VND 139 billion in loan from district-based branch of the Bank for Social Policies; offered 741 health insurance cards, built and upgraded three “great unity” houses with a total value of VND 201 million; supported  1,487 poor households with electricity bills at over VND 220 million. During the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival 2024, the district and its communes, township distributed 3,564 gifts to poor households, near-poor households and workers with difficult circumstances, with a total value of nearly VND 2.5 billion.

As of now, the entire district has had 303 poor households and 68 near-poor ones, accounting for 2.65% of the province’s poor households.

In the coming period, North Tan Uyen district will continue creating favorable conditions for  poor and near-poor households to easily get access to policies, effectively implementing social policy programs and poverty reduction initiatives. These efforts aim at supporting disadvantaged households in improving their situation and achieving sustainable poverty alleviation.
