Women in Binh Duong contribute to building up a prosperous and civilized hometown

With the spirit of unity, creativity and relentless effort, provincial Women's Unions at all levels have proactively improved the quality of its activities, launched dynamic emulation movements in association with that the local socio-economic development goals. Building up a cultural and civilized lifestyle

Vo Thi Bach Yen, Chairwoman of provincial Women's Union stated that over the past years, officials and members of provincial Women’s Unions at all levels actively participated in patriotic emulation movements and effectively implemented resolutions, programs and campaigns launched by the province. Notably, in 2024, provincial Women’s Unions at all levels took the lead in implementing provincial Party Committee’s Project No.02 on "Mass Mobilization for Building a Cultural and Civilized Lifestyle in Binh Duong for 2021-2025”. Provincial Women’s Unions at all level have initiated many models with strong spread. Building a civilized and cultural lifestyle has gradually become practical actions among the local Women’s Union officials and members. So far, they have also built models on classifying waste at source, exchanging waste for gifts and collecting recyclable waste to raise funds to support women with difficult circumstances...

Under the Project No.02, provincial Women’s Union has integrated its objectives with key tasks, particularly the campaign of “Building Families with 5 No-s, 3 Clean-s”. The project's operational contents and forms have many innovations, building outstanding and creative models, contributing to building up a civilized and cultural lifestyle. Supporting women and children

Caring for and supporting women and children in overcoming difficult circumstances and striving for a brighter future, provincial Women's Unions at all levels have recently carried out many practical and meaningful activities.

In a bid to build a cultural and civilized lifestyle, provincial Women's Union at all levels continue engaging in many meaningful and practical activities

The Women's Union of Lai Thieu ward in Thuan An city has just organized the "Loving Hair" program, launched by the city’s Women's Union. In this program, many women voluntarily cut their long, smooth hair for cancer patients, bringing hope, strength and confidence to those fighting serious illness. In Tam Lap commune in Phu Giao district, the local Women’s Union regularly organizes the “Raising Piggy Bank” model to purchase health insurance for members and assist women in need.

Over the past years, provincial Women's Unions at all levels mobilized resources for programs, including "Warm Spring of Love", "Border Spring, Warm Hearts for Locals" and livelihood support for ethnic women. They also sustained the "godmother" program, with 1,845 orphaned children supported with over VND 17 billion. Additionally, they raised more than VND 1.8 billion in cash and VND 1.1 billion in goods and essentials for people in northern provinces affected by Typhoon No. 3…

From the various activities of the Women’s Union, many outstanding women have emerged, known for their ethical qualities and dedication. For example, Nguyen Thi Bich Van, Chairwoman of Phu Giao district’s Women’s Union was the only representative from Binh Duong to be among 30 outstanding Women's Union officials nationwide, receiving the first Nguyen Thi Dinh Award in 2024 from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union. Another notable figure is Phan Thi Ngoc Loi, Chairwoman of North Tan Uyen district’s Labor Union and former Chairwoman of the district’s Women's Union, who was honored as one of 102 outstanding district-level Women’s Union chairpersons nationwide in 2024.

Being proud of their tradition, the generations of women in Binh Duong are increasingly confident, greatly contributing to family and society. It is hoped that women will continue being cherished and appreciated as gentle and beautiful flowers.

The Party's first platform defined: "The Party must liberate women, linking the liberation of women with the liberation of the nation and the class struggle"; "Women must join revolutionary organizations and establish their own organizations to mobilize women from all strata to participate in the revolution". As a result, on October 20, 1930, the Anti-Imperialist Women’s Association of Vietnam was officially established. On June 16, 1941, the Women’s National Salvation Association was founded and on October 20, 1946, the Vietnam Women’s Union was formed, with the Women’s National Salvation Association as its core. In April 1950, the Women’s National Salvation Association was merged into the Vietnam Women’s Union. On March 8, 1961, the Liberation Women’s Union was established in the South, and in June 1976, it was merged into the Vietnam Women’s Union. Despite the changes in name over time, the outstanding contributions of the Vietnam Women’s Union and women across the nation have always been worthy of the eight golden words awarded by President Ho Chi Minh: " Heroic, Indomitable, Faithful and Responsible”.
