Outstanding collectives, individuals in taking care of laborers honored

Today, June 15, Binh Duong organizes a ceremony to award the certificates of merit of provincial People’s Committee to 149 businesses and 49 individuals with excellent achievements in taking care of the lives of laborers on the occasion of the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival 2017.

There were nearly 150,000 workers staying in the province for the Tet festival 2017. The province also organized a variety of practical activities for them so that they could enjoy a warm and joyful Tet.

Particularly, the province held delegations to visit and present 11,383 gifts worth more than VND5.6billion to workers staying herein for Tet; gave 3,024 free bus tickets for workers in northern provinces from Phu Yen to Ha Noi and Mekong Delta ones, including Tra Vinh, Bac Lieu, An Giang, Kien Giang, Ca Mau… under the “Sentimental Tet bus” program with a total value of more than VND3.5billion.

Province-based businesses also organized year-end parties, art performances, lucky draw programs with attractive gifts worth more than VND50billion; presented Tet gifts to workers who could not return home for Tet…Especially, more than 100 businesses supported more than 12,000 workers to return home for Tet with the subsidy level of between VND200,000 and 1.2million per person. Binh Duong Garment Company took around 1,000 workers to come back home for Tet. Hundreds of workers of Thai Binh Shoes Group also supported hundreds of workers to travel home for Tet…

Additionally, province-based businesses, namely Yazaki EDS Co.Ltd., Lee &Vina Co.Ltd., Poong In Vina Co.Ltd.,…also coordinated with trade union locals to offer thousands of gifts worth more than VND113billion to workers; organize playgrounds for them…All contributed to building up harmonious, stable and advanced labor relations.

The province also paid more attention to the spiritual life of workers by organizing 5 art performance nights at Binh Duong new city’s park, 24 art performance programs at industrial parks, the “Tet sum vay” (Gathering in Tet holiday) program with the participation of more than 2,000 workers and 20 art performance programs for workers across the province…

Pham Van Tuyen, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs said that sectors, authorities at all levels and businesses in the province actively realized a task of taking care of the lives of workers during the Tet festival 2017 with practical activities, contributing to building harmonious, stable and advanced labor relations.

The majority of businesses in the province seriously carried out the adjustment of the region-based minimum wage levels for workers under the Government’s Decree No.153/2016/ND-CP dated November 14, 2016; paid wage and bonus levels as pledged for workers so that they could enjoy a joyful and warm Tet. Upon this, nearly 100% of workers returned to work after Tet .

Bui Thanh Nhan, President of provincial Labor Union said that along with the efforts by Trade Unions at all levels, province-based businesses need to further uphold their role in helping workers keep their mind on work for more contributions…

Whilst, Dang Thi Kim Chi, President of VSIPs’Trade Union said that during the Tet festival 2017, the Trade Union actively mobilized businesses to offer gifts to needy workers; donated gifts to 54 workers hit by labor accidents; gave bus tickets for trade unionists; organized playgrounds in celebration of Tet for workers…Over the past time. the Trade Union also made efforts in propaganding and mobilizing its branches to boost activities taking care of workers; disseminated policies for workers and encouraged businesses to pay more attention to caring for workers.
