Over 12,000 ninth graders sit for high-school admission exam

On June 1, 12,197 ninth graders in the province sat for the 2016-2017 academic year high-school admission exam at 30 examination councils with 3 subjects: literature, mathematics and English. For candidates at Hung Vuong specialized high school, they must take another test for gifted subjects.
Provincial Department of Education and Training is expected to admit a total of more than 9,000 pupils to the 10th grade at 28 public high schools for the 2016-2017 academic year. The figure is equivalent to 70% of local pupils with secondary-school graduation in the academic year.
