Upholding the national tradition of “When drinking water, remember its source”, Phu Giao district’s Party, government and people over time well realized the “Paying debt of gratitude” work to war invalids and martyrs’ families and those who had contributed to the national revolution.

According to Cao Thanh Xuan, head of Phu Giao district’s Division of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the whole district is now home to 730 policy beneficiaries, including war invalids, martyrs’ families, Vietnamese heroic mothers.
Over the five years, the district’s Party and government paid more attention to the local policy beneficiary families. Many activities of “Paying debt of gratitude” were organized across the district on the annual Tet and great holidays, especially War invalid and Martyrs’Day. Particularly, the district mobilized organizations and individuals to upgrade 55 gratitude houses, visit and present 3,980 gifts worth more than VND1.1bln to policy beneficiary families; gave vocational training, loans and jobs to policy beneficiaries and their offspring… The district also upgraded district’s Martyrs’ Cemetery; built two martyrs’monuments in Phuoc Sang and An Long communes and now plans to build the Phuoc Hoa bridge monument.
Noticeably, the “Paying debt of gratitude” work in Phu Giao district over time received strong support from the local people, businesses and donors. The local government also created favorable conditions for policy beneficiary families to get loans for economic development. As surveyed, the whole district now has 124 well-off policy beneficiary families, 284 and 306 others with moderately good and average living conditions.
With many efforts, Phu Giao district well realized the “Paying debt of gratitude” work via concrete activities over the past five year, contributing to improving the material and spiritual lives of the local policy beneficiary families.
