Phu My ward farmers in Thu Dau Mot city have made the most of every meter of fence and cultivation land to plant Aganonerion polymorphum (In Vietnamese, it is called lá giang) with the purpose of improving income.  A farmer in Phu My ward is taking care of his Aganonerion polymorphum garden.Huynh Tan Son, chairman of Phu My ward farmers' society said that the ward-based agricultural land area has been narrowed and left about 6.5ha of vegetables. Aganonerion polymorphum has appeared in this land for many years, especially in hamlet 4 and hamlet 5. In 2006, when the agricultural land area here was narrowed, local farmers bravely started planting Aganonerion polymorphum. The ward now reaches about 3.3ha of Aganonerion polymorphum.Huynh Van Luong, a farmer in quarter 8 said that local farmers have lived mainly on growing Aganonerion polymorphum. Luong has started planting Aganonerion polymorphum since 2009 and invested about VND20mil per 1,000sqm in tools for growing Aganonerion polymorphum. Until now, his over 2,500sqm Aganonerion polymorphum garden has brought him about VND400,000 per day.Huynh Tan Son added that Aganonerion polymorphum is suitable especially to Phu My ward-based soil and gives a low investment capital. Planting and taking care of Aganonerion polymorphum are very easy and all family members can join in the work. Reported by D.Le - Translated by A.C
