“Pink Campaign” improves the effectiveness of young worker gathering

The voluntary “Pink Campaign” 2018 was developed by Youth Union at all levels to care for and promote the voluntary spirit of young workers, contributing to the successful implementation of "Renovation of contents, methods of Youth Union, improvement of solidarity and gathering of young workers".

Activities for social security, environmental protection – “Journey connecting young workers” - are the focus for young workers, young worker linking clubs, young workers’ association and lodging house owners. Accordingly, provincial Center for Young worker Support organized 2 “Journeys connecting young workers”, visiting red addresses, organized " love kitchen" at two locations and community-based activities to promote the volunteer spirit of young workers.

Young worker linking clubs organizes voluntary activities to visit and give gifts to orphans in Pho Hien Pagoda, Bau Bang district.

At youth lodging house, local Youth Unions actively mobilized lodging house owners to preserve electricity prices for young workers; at the same time, organized planting trees, cleaning up streets and lodging houses, disseminated information on environmental protection. During the Pink campaign, Youth Union at all levels in the province made efforts to present 4 dream rooms to disadvantaged young workers, 1 compassionate house, established 3 youth lodging houses; organized free health consultancy, medical examination and medicine distribution for young workers in industrial zones.

At district level, Youth Union standing committees of districts, towns, city set up suitable implementation contents in accordance with each unit’s situation. Pham Chien Thang, Deputy Secretary of Di An town Youth Union, said: "During the Pink campaign, the town Youth Union organized activities to help and support young workers such as visiting, giving gifts to sick workers or workers suffering labor accidents; mobilize lodging house owners to set up "Dream rooms", youth lodging houses; organized leisure and recreation activities at youth lodging houses; organized “Journeys connecting young workers”, "Compassionate buses" and provides legal advices at young workers’ association at lodging houses to raise legal knowledge for young workers. In addition to caring for young workers, children of disadvantaged young workers are also cared by Di An Youth Union through voluntary programs "For dear children", giving scholarships; youth union members gave free lessons in summer to children of young workers...

Tran Bao Lam, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Youth Union, said: "The 2018 Pink campaign focused on gathering young workers for activities of the campaign, developing the political core team. Activities of the campaign also encouraged the establishment of new youth union branches in non-State enterprises, developed membership, counsel Party organizations in new Party member development, contributing to strengthening the youth gathering; improving the quality of youth unions and associations".
