Priority given to curbing inflation

 Top priority will be given to curbing inflation and reforming salary policies at the upcoming session of the 13th National Assembly, said State President Truong Tan Sang. 

President Sang emphasized this at a meeting with voters in District 4 of Ho Chi Minh City on October 18. He said great efforts will be made to reduce the current high inflation to a single-digit rate in 2012.

Regarding the fight against corruption, the state leader said that major cases, such as Vinashin, will be strictly dealt with in compliance with the law.

Mr Sang also affirmed the Party and State’s consistent policies to protect the country’s sovereignty and said Vietnam is a reliable friend and partner to other countries.

The voters of District 4 expressed their hope that National Assembly deputies will maintain closer contact with the people, listen to voters’ ideas and relay them to the NA.

They also raised the issues of containing inflation, rising hospital and tuition fees, transferring agricultural land, combating corruption, and policies related to government employee salaries.
