Province marks 105th anniversary of Int’l Women’s Day, 1,975th of the two Trung sisters’ Uprising

Nguyen Huu Tu, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee awarding the certificates of merit to 15 outstanding collectives in the local patriotic emulation movement between 2010 and 2015.

Early March 6, provincial Women’s Union held a get-together to commemorate the 105th anniversary of Int’l Women’s Day, the 1,975th of the two Trung sisters’ Uprising while honoring 158 outstanding women in the 2010-2015 period. Attending the event were Nguyen Huu Tu, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Thanh Liem, Head of provincial Public Relations Committee.

At the get-together, delegates reviewed the glorious tradition of Vietnamese women over periods. Upholding this tradition, women in the province over time made efforts to overcome difficulties; actively took part in the local patriotic emulation movements, especially the emulation movement of “Women actively study, creatively work and build up happy families”. Especially, many exemplary role-models were discovered through the campaign of “Studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s exemplary morals”.

Under the emulation movement of “Women helping each other in economic development”, as many as 9,223 well-off women helped 8,647 needy ones get more than VND17bln in loan. Nearly 92% of members in 2014 registered to realize the campaign of “Building up families with 5 No-s and 3 Clean-s”. As of late 2014, there were nearly 93% female-headed families meeting criteria of the campaign.

Addressing the get-together, Mr.Tu extended best regards to heroic Vietnamese mothers and all women on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of International Women’s Day and the 1,975th anniversary of the two Trung sisters’ Uprising. He also spoke highly of achievements done by provincial Women’s Unions at all levels as well as contributions by women to the local socio-economic development while believing that the local women’s movements would reach in-depth development, contributing to fulfilling the local tasks on socio-economic development.
