Provincial Committee for the Advancement of Women yesterday forwarded a conference to sum up the 10-year implementation of “the National Strategy for the Advancement of Women till 2010”.
Reportedly, provincial Committee for the Advancement of Women well realized the above strategy over the past ten years. The whole province had 46,000 or 56,000 laborers offered jobs annually, 62% or 85% of whom were female laborers. There were nearly 13,500 female-headed households getting preferential loan to develop homebased business through the model of “Women helping each other in economic development”.
In terms of education field, there were 1,499 female officials and civil servants send to training courses and more than 97% of women aged 25 and 40 under illiteracy elimination. Regarding health field, the average life expectancy of the local women increased to 72 and above; all health stations herein also had obstetricians and midwives…
To raise the quality and operational efficiency of women in all fields, provincial Committee for the Advancement of Women and its affiliates will further focus on education of the Law on Gender Equality and related decrees; regularly organize training courses on knowledge of gender and operational skills for their officials and members to better realize the strategy.
