Provincial leaders receive delegation of Central Economic Commission

Late June 3, a delegation of the Central Economic Commission, led by Le Vinh Tan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission had a working session with provincial leaders about the implementation of the resolutions and conclusions of the Politburo on regional development and coherence.

Pham Van Canh, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Council and Tran Van Nam, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee received the delegation.

At the working session, leaders of provincial Department of Planning and Investment briefly reported the implementation of the 11th Politburo’s Resolution No.53-NQ/TW, Conclusion No.27-KL/TW. Accordingly, there were a lot of comprehensive results in 3 phases of strategic breakthrough, economic restructuring and growth model shift. The province’s GDP growth rate in the 2005-2015 period reached 13.5%. The local economic structure saw a shift towards the growth of industrial and service proportion and the reduction of the agricultural proportion. Industrial production value in 2015 is estimated at nearly VND216.6trillion, 5.1 times higher than 2005. Total export turnover between 2005 and 2015 is estimated at US$110.5bln, up 21% compared to 2015…

Cooperation relations between Binh Duong and other localities over the past time got in-depth development and gained practical results in many aspects. The province also took initiative in expanding friendship relations and economic cooperation with countries in the world. At the working session, provincial leaders also put forward several measures on regional economic development in the 2016-2020 period and vision towards 2025.

Addressing the working session, Mr.Canh said that during the past years, Binh Duong focused on industrial and human resource development while always realizing the importance of coherence with other localities in economic development.

According to Mr.Tan, Binh Duong is one of main localities in the southern key economic zone. The industrial development of Binh Duong and southeastern provinces has also contributed to promoting the economic growth of the Mekong Delta region.
