Provincial leaders visit, congratulate Phu Cuong diocese’s Bishop

Early March 19, Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee together with leaders of provincial Department of Home Affairs and Religious Committee visited and congratulated Bishop Giuse Nguyen Tan Tuoc of Phu Cuong diocese on the occasion of the Giuse patron saint’s ceremony.

On behalf of provincial leaders, Mr.Liem praised active contributions by Bishop Nguyen Tan Tuoc, priests, clergymen and followers in the cause of Binh Duong’s construction and development over the past time. The whole province is now home to 81 Catholic facilities with more than 430 dignitaries and nearly 94,000 followers or 5.71% of total population.

Mr.Liem also wished the Bishop good health and wanted that he would continue encouraging the local Catholic community to well obey the law and effectively participate in the local emulation movements, contributing to promoting the national great unity bloc.

Bishop Nguyen Tan Tuoc also thanked provincial leaders for their attention to Catholic dignitaries, clergymen and followers in the province while expressing Catholic followers’ sentiment and responsibility in practising religious belief and realizing citizens’ duty to the nation.
