Religious organizations, ethnic minorities contribute over VND35 billion to charitable works

Morning Jan 29, on the occasion of 2016 Lunar New Year, Binh Duong province Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee organized a meeting with representatives of religious organizations and ethnic minorities in the province. Pham Van Canh, Permanent Deputy Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Council; Nguyen Thanh Liem, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Mass Mobilization Committee; Dang Minh Hung, Deputy Chairman of provincial People's Committee; Huynh Van Nhi, Chairman of provincial People's Council, attended the meeting.

Provincial leaders gave gifts to religious leaders

At the meeting, provincial leaders announced the achievements in economic, political, cultural and social - security and defense field in 2015. Religious dignitaries thanked provincial leaders for paying attention, supporting religious dignitaries and followers in organizing religious rituals.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Canh praised contributions of religious dignitaries and followers, ethnic minorities in implementing the Party’s guidelines, State’s laws. Religious organizations, ethnic minorities did good charitable work, contributing to provincial social welfare. In 2015, religious organizations, Chinese community, and ethnic minorities contributed over 35 billion VND to philanthropic activities to build hundreds of great unity houses for poor people.

Mr. Canh also hoped that religious organizations would continue to practice good religious life, encourage religious followers to complying with the Party's guidelines, State’s laws. Ethnic minorities to preserve and uphold good cultural values, traditions, and turn towards wealthy people, strong, democratic, fair and civilized country. On this occasion, provincial leaders presented gifts, extended happy new year greetings to religious dignitaries, ethnic minorities in the province.
