Social policy fund to support customers during the epidemic time

Due to the pandemic affecting production activities and people's lives, Tan Uyen Town branch of Social Policy Bank has implemented many measures to ensure service quality as well as to support customers in the area.

From beginning of this year, Tan Uyen Town branch of Social Policy Bank has made efforts to realize the "dual goal", contributing to local socio-economic development. Currently, the bank branch is in charge of providing loans for policy beneficiaries in two areas, Tan Uyen Town and North Tan Uyen district. Funds and loans from this bank branch have partly met the demand of poor households and policy beneficiaries, lent households loans to invest in production and business, create new jobs, renovate, upgrade clean water works, toilets in order to improve local living standards. North Tan Uyen district solely has a total capital of more than 332 billion VND, total outstanding loans of more than 325 billion VND with 6,701 borrowers from 7 loan programs.

Doan Tien Dung, Director of Social Policy Bank's Tan Uyen Town branch, said that during the pandemic period, the branch had developed plans and scenarios to strengthen prevention measures and arrange staff to work alternately, apply information technology, receive documents on the national web portal, and consult customers via phone to ensure safe and smooth operation.

In this Covid-19 wave, the bank branch is striving to serve client groups as prescribed in the Government's Resolution No. 68/NQ-CP dated July 1st 2021 on a number of policies to support workers and employers facing difficulties. Accordingly, on the basis of customer requests, savings and loan groups, entrusted political organizations, commune-level People's Committees, the bank branch adjusts the debt repayment term and reschedules debts or provide additional loans to help customers resume production and business.

In order to quickly implement support policies, the bank branch also actively cooperates with other agencies to check statistics on businesses that need loans to make severance payment and pay wages to workers to resume work; to intensify the dissemination of relevant information for businesses to contact for loans. In particular, the bank branch published a hotline phone number, appointed specialized staff to receive loan applications, answer questions to create favorable conditions for businesses to soon receive loans.
