Update: 10-06-2016 | 16:14:15

In order to ensure the completion of the 2016 capital construction plan, from the beginning of this year, many key projects have been executed on schedule. However, a number of projects’ implementation progress is slow, due to problems in land clearance.

Embankment construction project along Dong Nai River (from Rach Tre bridge to Tan Uyen Town Party committee) is being executed

According to provincial Construction Investment Projects’ Management Board, investment projects funded by provincial state budget consist of 18 projects are in preparation, 10 projects are completed and being audited, 11 projects are under construction and 7 new projects have been commenced. Projects funded by lottery budget comprise 1 project is in preparation, 4 projects are under construction, 1 project is put out to tender. From the beginning of this year, accepted volume of completed works is VND293.83 billion (23.64%); allocated, paid capital is VND272.89 billion (21.95% compared to the 2016 plan).

Ensuring the planned progress

Implementing the capital construction investment plan of Binh Duong province in 2016, many projects were basically completed according to plan. Namely, the project of building new Thoi An bridge crossing Thi Tinh River; the project of drainage system to tackle flooding in the rainy season in residential area along DT741 road; the project of war zone D’s center area and technical infrastructure; the project of restoring, renovating Kien An Forest historical relic…

Besides, several projects are under construction and accelerated by investors and construction units. Mr. Nguyen Chi Duc, Deputy Director of Construction Investment Projects’ Management Board, which is the project investor, said the 2nd stage of embankment project along the Saigon River (from Binh Nham canal to Chau Van Tiep street, Thuan An Town) completed ashlar embankments, lighting system, asphalt concreting 1,500m out of 1,700m, concreting sidewalks, planting trees and tiling sidewalk. The construction progress achieves now 95% total volume.

Regarding the project of expanding, upgrading DT747a road (from Ba Nghia slope to Cong Xanh T-junction, package 1 completed 82% contract value; package 2 completed 93.62% contract value; package 3 completed 100% and is being handed over and put into use; package 4 completed about 79.57% contract value; package 5 completed 59.87%, and package 6 completed 80.86% contract value. These packages are executing C19,5 hot asphalt concrete on the whole route. The project of Phu Hoa resettlement zone achieved about 93% total construction volume; construction units are accelerating remaining works.

The rainy season has come, thus provincial leaders are accelerating irrigation projects. Namely, the project of embankments along Dong Nai River (from Rach Tre bridge to Tan Uyen Town Party committee) has completed casting piles, casting 105/105 piles, driving 75/105 piles, concreting 80/210m of the 1st stretch; casting 540/540 piles, concreting 55/225m of the 2nd stretch; casting520/540 piles, concreting 225/225m of the 3rd stretch.

To accelerate the land clearance

Apart from on-schedule projects, there are still some projects having slow construction progress, due to problems in compensation and land clearance. Mr. Nguyen Chi Duc said, compensation works for site clearance of some projects had been slow, thus affecting the construction progress. For example, projects of Phu Thu intersection; So Sao intersection renovation; stretch from Thoi An bridge to DT748 road… In the future, provincial Construction Investment Projects’ Management Board will strengthen coordination with Land Fund Development Center to accelerate site clearance, resettlement of these projects.

In order to complete projects as planned, provincial leaders will continue to coordinate with relevant units to strengthen the inspection on project workloads; regular inspection, examination of projects under construction; urge construction units to accelerate the construction progress as planed to ensure the quality and time limit of projects.

Speeding up the progress of key projects not only ensures the completion of provincial capital construction plan but also contributes to the comprehensive improvement of infrastructure in order to meet the actual needs of the people and facilitate socio-economic development of the province.
