Spurring friendship relation and cooperation between Eindhoven city and Binh Duong province

Tran Van Nam, vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and Mrs. Mary – Ann Schreurs ink an MoU on friendship cooperation.

On Jan. 16, the signing ceremony on friendship cooperation between Netherlands’ Eindhoven city and Binh Duong province took place at the provincial People’s Committee with the participation of Mr. Simon Van der Burg, Consul General at Consulate General of the Netherlands Ho Chi Minh City and the delegation of Eindhoven city led by Mrs. Mary – Ann Schreurs, vice head of Eindhoven city, Pham Van Canh, chairman of the provincial People’s Council, leaders of the provincial People’s Committee and some departments and agencies.

Expanding cooperation on many areas

At the ceremony, rep of the provincial administration, Tran Van Nam, vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and Mrs. Mary – Ann Schreurs, vice head of Eindhoven city inked an MoU on friendship cooperation between the two sides. Accordingly, the two sides will accelerate friendship relation and cooperation on areas such as planning, infrastructure development, urban construction, economic and technical science development, healthcare and education.

Initially, Binh Duong provincial administration and Eindhoven city will give priorities to spur cooperation activities of technical science, trade promotion and investment cooperation on areas of hi-tech industry and service, education-training and more.

In addition, the two sides will facilitate Netherland and Vietnam enterprises’ trade promotion and investment. Moreover, the two sides will make greater efforts to build a sustainable relation on win-win cooperation.

On this occasion, Becamex IDC signed an MoU on spurring cooperation with Brainport Company of Eindhoven city. According to the signing, Brainport and Becamex IDC will research feasibility of model of “State-research institute-enterprise” that Brainport has won many successes; establish units of research centers, local enterprise teams linking with institutes, universities and research centers of Netherlands and other nations.

The two sides will strengthen advantage of competition by luring big corporations and companies; introduce and assist Becamex IDC to contact Eindhoven city administration. Brainport will coordinate, share and counsel manpower, technology, business and quality of living.

Promoting advantages of the two sides

Highly appreciating the signing, Mrs. Mary – Ann Schreurs said that this is result of effort from the two sides’ leaders. This cooperation will promote the two sides’ advantages and bring good things for Binh Duong and Eindhoven city.

With trust and mutual understanding, the two sides will gradually make many concrete works to long attach together.

Addressing the signing ceremony, Tran Van Nam highly appreciated friendship cooperation between Binh Duong province and Eindhoven city and simultaneously said that the signing of MoU is a very important milestone for spurring friendship relation and mutual understanding of the two localities.

He also believes in effectively launching of the MoU as well as positive cooperation of the two local administrations on areas for the sake of Binh Duong province and Eindhoven city.

Nguyen Van Hung, general director of Becamex IDC said that cooperation tie between Binh Duong province and Eindhoven city is very significant. Especially, Binh Duong province has a well infrastructure facility of industry, health, education while Eindhoven city possesses advantages of high technology, so this cooperation will open new opportunities and create more advantages for enterprises of the two sides. We have big cooperation projects with partners of Singapore, Japan to make up advantages for local and foreign investors in Binh Duong province and the Southern key economic zone.

For Netherlands, the cooperation will produce advantages for Binh Duong province and open new chances for enterprises and big corporations eyeing investment in the province.

Peter Portheine, program director of Brainport Company added that we and Becamex IDC will map out plans for this year. In addition, the two sides set up working offices for cadres and employees. For instance, Brainport Company in Eindhovan city will offer a working office for cadres from Binh Duong and vice versa. Working at Brainport’s office in Eindhoven city, cadres and employees as well as enterprises from Binh Duong and Vietnam will enjoy advantages and opportunities.
