In the afternoon of March 3, Mr. Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of Binh Duong provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee chaired the 7th regular online meeting of February 2022 of the provincial People's Committee to approve the contents of the socio-economic situation, defense and security February 2022 and to implement the plan of the government's Resolution No. 11 on socio-economic recovery and development. Attending the meeting was representatives of leaders of departments, branches and localities in the province.
To focus on economic development
Since the beginning of the year, the provincial People's Committee has drastically directed the implementation of the 2022 socio-economic development plan in all sectors and fields and the economic recovery and development program according to Resolution No. 11/NQ-CP of the government and has organized activities to serve the people joyfully, safely, and thriftily celebrating Tet while ensuring COVID-19 prevention and control, political security, social order and safety.

According to the report, accumulatedly in the first 2 months of the year, the industrial production value of the province increased by 6.1% over the same period; total retail sales of goods and services reached VND 45,294 billion, increasing by 10.3%; the average consumer price index in February increased by 2.1%; export turnover reached nearly USD 6 billion, increasing by 18.7% over the same period; domestic investment, as of February 15, has attracted USD 7,161 billion; foreign investment has gained USD 47 million; total budget revenue gained VND 12,202 billion, reaching 20% of the estimate assigned by the provincial People's Council and equaling 89% over the same period.

In the coming time, the provincial People's Committee will focus on reviewing and removing drawbacks in production and business activities, striving to achieve the province's average GRDP growth target in the 2021-2025 at 8.5 - 8.7% a year and 8 - 8.3% in 2022, keeping on to implement the planning steps of Binh Duong province in 2022-2030 with a vision to 2050, studying investment plans for traffic routes of Vanh Dai 3, Vanh Dai 4, Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh highway, and An Tay port, strengthening financial discipline to strictly manage andeffectively exploit the remaining revenue sources, and thoroughly saving state budget expenditure with focus on implementing solutions to accelerate disbursement of public investment capital resources.
To ensure COVID-19 prevention and control in schools
Along with the focus on socio-economic development in the coming time, the matters of ensuring COVID-19 prevention and control in schools and vaccination against COVID-19 for students are approved by the provincial People's Committee and other departments and agencies for local interest. Reporting at the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhat Hang, Director of Department of Education and Training, said that approximately 96% of students at all levels in the province have so far directly attended schools while other students are mainly under the quarantine according to regulations. Up to now, 809 teachers and 10,341 students in the province have been infected with COVID-19 while the rate of teachers who have received 3 doses of COVID-19 vaccines is 99.97%. Children in preschool education institutions, primary school and 6th graders (aged 11 and under) have not been vaccinated. Currently, Department of Education and Training is coordinating with Department of Health to make statistics on the number of vaccination when guided by Ministry of Health. About 98.23% of secondary school students have received 2 doses of vaccines as 99.15% of students from high schools and centers of vocational education and training have received 2 doses of the vaccines.
Ms. Hang added: " Department of Education and Training has directed the continual education institutions to capture information from students' parents and the public, and propagate the school's plan to organize direct teaching which clearly states the benefits and meanings of sending students to school directly and solutions to ensure school safety and prevent and control the COVID-19 epidemic; however, many schools are currently struggling in the face of test kit lacking, so it should be proposed to the provincial People's Committee to have a solution so that schools can test for COVID-19 on students." Regarding such issue, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tai, Chairman of People's Committee of Di An city, said: “In the city, infection (F0) in schools has increased in recent days. The city recommends the provincial People's Committee to calculate and support schools to have enough test kits for students and teachers. In the coming time, the city will keep on to strengthen the synchronous implementation of solutions to ensure the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic.”
Concluding the meeting, Mr. Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, agreed on the contents of the reports. Regarding COVID-19 test kits at schools, Mr. Vo Van Minh asked districts, towns and cities to meet the needs of schools, administrative agencies and non-business units. At the same time, it is recommended that localities should urgently complete socio-economic development plans for 2021-2030 with a vision to 2050 while appraising and submitting for approval of the construction and urban planning of the districts, towns, and cities according to regulations with focus on speeding up disbursement of public investment.
