Compared with 5 years ago, Ben Cat district of today is very different. The local image has been changing every day from urban to rural areas.

The above achievements are thanks to a right planning and investment of the locality, greatly contributing to urbanization process.

In terms of rural traffic, over the past 5 years, 15 communes, townships across the district have completed 382 rural traffic and urban rejuvenation works with the total length of over 275km worth over VND90bil. In 2008-2009, the localities invested in asphalted roads. After decentralization launched since 2007, the district People’s Committee has decentralized to grassroot localities to conduct 113 works worth over VND29bil. The deed has helped localities actively solve real requirements.

At present, the locality has planned and approved over 20 residential and urban area projects with an area of over 5,000ha. This affirms local urbanization process over years by strongly development of urban areas of My Phuoc 1, 2,3 and Bau Bang.

Huynh Thu Lap, head of Ben Cat urban management division, said “In next 5 years, the locality will expand and build key routes, creating impetus for local socio-economic development”. Accordingly, the district will continue adding overall planning till 2020, launching construction at southeastern and southwestern communes as well as upgrading other routes”.

In the coming time, the locality will create strongly development in service and commerce by forming up trade centers, supermarkets. Therefore, urbanization pace will be stepped up.
