Tam Lap Bridge connects

The long awaiting bridge named Tam Lap connecting the two communes of Tam Lap in Phu Giao District and Tan Dinh in Tan Uyen District has been put into use right before Tet. Tam Lap Bridge plays an vital role to local traffic of Phu Giao and Tan Uyen Tam Lap Bridge is of 5 spans, 165 meter long and 10 meter width constructed in steel-enforced concrete with piles of 1,200mm in diameter. The bridge is constructed with leading routes from both sides with security lighting and warning. The construction costs over VND 48 billion.On January 17, Tam Lap Bridge was inaugurated in witness of provincial and local leaders and the majority of people of Tam Lap and Tan Dinh communes.Previously, people in the two communes must use ferry passing the Be River for transportation. The river creek was notorious of steep banks and wild flows, especially in rainy season.The project of Tam Lap Bridge was planned in a bid to facilitate transportation and travel of local people and promotion of socio-economic development in the locality.However, because of complex soil foundation, the project was prolonged for additionally 3 years and 9 months beyond expectations.Mr. Tran Ngoc Lu, Deputy Director of Dai Viet Construction and Bridge Co. Ltd., the contractor of Tam Lap Bridge said: “We have been challenged by the soil foundation here during our construction. The flow is strong and frequently rises, thus, we have to rotate our engineering. By the support of local authority and leadership as well as local people, we managed to fulfill our tasks to meet local expectations.”Tam Lap Bridge plays a major role in connecting Phu Giao and Tan Uyen districts. For local people in the two communes, the bridge met their demands so long awaited.Mr. Le Van Chien, a resident at Vuon Uom Hamlet in Tan Dinh Commune could not hold back his joy while saying: “I am a resident in Tan Dinh Commune; however, my relatives live in Tam Lap Commune. In the past when there was no bridge here, we must use the ferry which was rather dangerous in rainy season. Now, everything is different. We are worry-free when passing the river.”Mr. Le Quoc Dung, an elderly farmer residing in Tam Lap Commune said: “I was so happy for such construction to ease our travelling back and fro. It should not be the travelling but more conditions for economic development.”Being a major construction challenged by geographic conditions, many may think of a longer time of construction; however, by the commands of provincial People’s Committee and determination of the contractor, the bridge was completed before Tet.Mr. Vo Van Ba, Chair of Phu Giao District People’s Committee said: “Tam Lap Bridge encourages local people for better travelling conditions and opportunities for socio-economic development. The presence of the bridge was thanks to all out efforts of the contractor and the authorities regarding the investment to infrastructure development in rural areas. For the time to come, we commit to best use of the bridge.”As the bridge was inaugurated, various commodity vans of local people have hit their first tracks on the long awaiting bridge.For the Tet to come, local people of Tam Lap and Tan Dinh should be happier for being no longer dependent on the ferry.Reported by Da Binh – Translated by Vi Bao
