The 13th NA closes final session

 The 13th National Assembly (NA) concluded the 11th session in Hanoi on April 12 after 19 days’ sitting, successfully fulfilling its scheduled agenda.

In her closing speech, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said during the session, lawmakers reviewed the implementation of the five-year socio-economic development plan (2011-2015) and noted with satisfaction the combined efforts to fulfill socio-economic development targets and achieve important results.

They also pointed out weaknesses and obstacles that need to deal with in the coming time.

The NA issued a resolution on the socio-economic development plans for 2016-2020 with the aim of ensuring macro-economic stability, posting year-on-year economic growth, boosting economic restructuring in combination with renewing growth models, improving productivity and economic efficiency and competitiveness.
 

Legislator mulled over reports of the NA, NA agencies, State President, Government, Prime Minister, the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, the Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy and the State Audit Office of Vietnam.

The NA adopted the assignment of key posts in the NA- State President, Government, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People’s Procuracy, the National Election Council and the Council on National Defence and Security.

Tran Dai Quang was appointed as State President, Nguyen Xuan Phuc as Prime Minister and Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan as NA Chairwoman.

This was the first time the NA Chairwoman, State President, Prime Minister and the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court gave oath speeches in which they pledged absolute loyalty to the fatherland, the people and the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and vowed to make all-out effort to well fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party, State and people.
