The development of a collective brand label model for orange and pomelo products at Minh Hoa Phat Agricultural - Service - Trade Cooperative (abbreviated as Minh Hoa Phat Cooperative), Minh Hoa commune, Dau Tieng district, contributes to protecting and enhancing the value of products, promoting the fruit tree brand of Binh Duong province.

Quality produces for health safety
Minh Hoa land has suitable soil for growing various types of fruit trees with pulp. Therefore, in recent years, farmers in the commune have increased the area of these crops and achieved high economic efficiency. Mr. Tong Van Huong, Director of Minh Hoa Phat Cooperative, shared that during the process of building the brand for collective oranges and pomelos, all members of the cooperative and households growing oranges and pomelos in Dau Tieng district in general are eager to achieve the set goals as soon as possible. Up to now, all products of the cooperative, including oranges and pomelos, have their own brands.
“Thanks to strictly implementing the scientific and technological production process, ensuring high quality and safety, our products are favored by customers. The cooperative has also organized exchange programs with cooperatives in Ninh Binh, Hung Yen, and Hanoi. Currently, many supermarkets in these localities have signed contracts with the cooperative to display and sell oranges and pomelos. We are very happy with this result," said Mr. Tong Van Huong.
Mr. Huong said that during the development process of Minh Hoa Cooperative, the implementation of the collective brand model for orange and pomelo products has created a strong spread. Up to now, there have been more than 10 delegations from provinces and cities across the country coming to visit and learn from the cooperative's operational experience. The delegations highly appreciate the cooperative's approach, which has brought high-quality products and ensured the safety and health of users.
Minh Hoa Phat Collective has an area of 150 hectares for growing oranges and pomelos. The cooperative is currently converting the area for growing oranges and kumquats to growing green-skinned pomelos and durians. In order to increase productivity and improve product quality, reduce costs and labor, in recent times, the cooperative has applied modern technology to cultivation. Up to now, 100% of the cooperative's planting area has been using an automatic irrigation system. Currently, the green-skinned pomelos of the collective yield 30 tons/ha, while durians yield 25 tons/ha. After deducting expenses, the average income per villager is 450-500 million VND per year.
To multiply the models
In early October 2024, the delegation from the Provincial Center for the Application of Scientific and Technological Advances and the Farmers' Association of Dau Tieng district conducted a survey to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing the collective brand model for orange and pomelo products at Minh Hoa Phat Cooperative. At the survey session, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Deputy Director of the center, said that the construction and development of the collective brand performance model at Minh Hoa Phat Cooperative is an important step in enhancing the value of local agricultural products. Minh Hoa Phat Cooperative plays an important role in testing and drawing experience for the use of the brand. This is also the basis for expanding this model in the future.
The Department of Science and Technology has signed a cooperation agreement with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Farmers' Association of the province, and the Cooperative Alliance of the province to organize training courses for farmers to access digital transformation and participate in e-commerce platforms. The Center for the Application of Scientific and Technological Advances in the province continues to support the construction of a collective brand for the products of Minh Hoa Phat Cooperative to improve quality, develop, expand the brand, and expand the consumer market.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan believes that farmers in Dau Tieng district need to work hard, be diligent in learning agricultural techniques to produce high-quality agricultural products, ensuring health and safety, especially for oranges and pomelos. The Provincial Center for the Application of Science and Technology hopes to join hands with local authorities, businesses, and people in developing collective brands. This is one of the solutions contributing to the sustainable development of the agricultural sector in the province in general, and Dau Tieng district in particular.
