Millions of youths had been ready to devote they youth to the reconstruction of the nation in all fields after the nation liberation 40 years ago. Local youths of Binh Duong Province were engaged in plenty activities for the nation and the people.

Leading people in time of hardship

After the South was liberated and the nation was unified Ho Chi Minh Labor Youth's League was renamed to Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth's League at the 4th National Party Congress in 1976. In 1980, so as to promote volunteer movements to help the nation, the movement of 3-factor leading volunteer were set up at the 4th National Youth's League Congress in Ha Noi capital for the cause of socialism construction and nation protection.

Following the movement, millions youth's leaguers have joined up and promoted the glorious tradition to recover the economy after war and protect the socialist nation of Vietnam.

Joint efforts to rebuild the homeland

War left behind plenty consequences and losses. The destroyed facilities, the degraded economy, and the hardship of the people were presently made. Local youths have joined up movements to show their participation in recovering and reconstructing the homeland.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ngoc My, former Secretary of Lai Thieu District Youth's League, recalled: "We eyed the strongest movements at all levels. At the time, the duty of nation protection and economic recovery were utmost. Besides, the youths also promoted army services to support the nation defense and help offered to Cambodian government. We even rebuilt homes of war veterans."

My also recollected the time of saving up for economic development and street cleaning up.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Hoa, former Chair of Song Be Provincial Association of Youths of tenure 1 from 1983 to 1988, said: "At my time, the nation was just liberated. Under the red-tape governmen, all the costs were sponsored by the state not by the society like now; thus, the operation finance was limited. Despite the hardship, we were not disencouraged to be leading in movements to create the greatest endeavor of the youths in all fields.
