Touring through festive days of Hue Festival 2010

As parts of cultural and art activities introducing cultures in Hue Festival 2010, on June 6th, festive activities were opened up from Hue city to its outskirts.

 

Legendary Huong River – historic stories of a river

 

Huyen Thoai Song Huong (Huong River Legend) program was started by 17:00 on June 6th in front of Nghinh Luong Dinh (Luong Dinh sideways). Huyen Thoai Song Huong is heartily staged basing on beauty, history and legend of Huong River. The program is to affirm historic and cultural values of natural landscape imbued with hearts and souls of the people to the land of Hue ancient capital.

 

The program depicting daily activities and rituals of ancient royal re-enacted one royal boat and 20 dragon boats and 18 special localities along the two river banks. Visitors will have chance to observe people acting as royal guards offering incense to Hon Chen Hall beside gentle and simple life of fishermen when the sun sets. Stories are told about mystical Thien Mu pagoda and Bach Ho Bridge with 9 bright lights representing 9 lords of Nguyen Dynasty. After one touring round on Huong River, visitors will be back to Nghinh Luong Dinh to enjoy art performing program including dancing, poem chanting and Nha Nhac (royal music).

 

“Breathe of Water” praises up the heritage

 

Hoi tho cua nuoc (Breathe of Water) started by 20:00 at Tinh Tam Lake (inner-peace) re-enacting special art performance and music heritage of Vietnam certified by UNESCO as international heritage such as Nha Nhac (royal music), Ca Tru (ceremonial singing), and Quan Ho (love duets). Other traditional art performances were also included in Breathe of Water program that at the same time praised up pure and gentle beauty of Vietnamese women and spiritual culture through re-enactments of royal palace. Breathe of Water is a special part of Hue Festival 2010 and will continue performance on two nights of June 9th and June 11th.

 

Other cultural spaces

 

This year’s festival in Hue is extended to the outskirts of Hue City as well as to forms of activities including performance of foreign groups and bands, as well as painting exhibitions of all kinds.
