Training on monitoring and treatment of monkeypox for 550 health workers held

On the afternoon of October 9, provincial health sector in collaboration with HCM city-based Pasteur Institute and Dermatology Hospital organized a face-to-face and online training class on the monitoring and treatment of monkeypox for 550 medical staff throughout the province.

At the training class, representatives of Ho Chi Minh city-based Pasteur Institute and Dermatology Hospital informed of recent cases of monkeypox. Representative of provincial Center for Disease Control also exchanged knowledge related to monitoring and prevention of monkeypox; how to monitor and detect suspected cases, identified and eliminated ones; specific disease prevention measures, non-specific disease ones; treatment methods for patients, those who contact patients and environmental treatment of outbreaks...

Provincial General Hospital also implemented diagnosis and treatment of monkeypox and proactive methods of exploiting patient information, monitoring high-risk subjects at medical facilities to detect cases early and handle them promptly.

As of now, Binh Duong has recorded 2 cases of monkeypox.
