Warm love from the Comradeship Fund

At present, Ben Cat district’s An Dien commune People’s Committee’s cadres and public employees have been busy to pay tribute to local revolutionary contributors and privileged people.

According to Nguyen Van Hoa, a cadre of An Dien commune division of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, An Dien commune now has 33 privileged families, 9 of which are martyrs’ families. Over the past time, the commune has built as many as 102 gratitude houses, resulting in basically completing gratitude house building to local privileged people.

according to Nguyen Cong Khai, vice secretary of An Dien commune party committee, An Dien authority often pays surveys to grasp local privileged people’s circumstances in a bid to mobilize donors and community to help them. As such, since 2000, the locality has granted 10 gratitude houses per year to needy privileged families. At present, the communal party committee and authority have focused on repairing downgraded gratitude houses.

As statistics, the commune has completed repair work of 17 gratitude houses with the total value of VND60mil per house.

In addition, An Dien commune has maintained a model of the Comradeship Fund, bringing high results over the past years. The Comradeship Fund is used for health visits and assistances for poor children of war invalids and martyrs.

At present, this model has been launched across 5 hamlets and 1 party cell. “We hope to enrich this fund fro the sake of helping poor privileged families. We have perfected regulations for this fund, especially criteria for beneficiaries”, said Nguyen Cong Khai, vice secretary of An Dien commune party committee.

Healthcare for privileged households

on the War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27), Van Phuc General Hospital just offered a free health check-ups and medicines for 1,179 patients who are war invalids, revolutionary contributors, poor and old people living in wards of Binh Chuan and An Phu of Thuan An town, Khanh Binh, Thanh Hoi, Thanh Phuoc communes and Tan Phuoc Khanh township of Tan Uyen district.

To share pains with war invalids and sick soldiers, privileged families and poor patients, war invalid doctor Dao Canh Tuat chairman of membership council of Van Phuc general hospital, directly treated diseases for the beneficiaries.

Doctor Dao Canh Tuat, revealed “I am also a war invalid returning from Cambodia battlefield. I understand losses and pains of martyrs’ relatives and war invalids. to partly contribute to the community healthcare in general and privileged people in general, Van Phuc general hospital spends part of cost to offer free health check-ups and medicines to local privileged people”.

Placing jobs for comrades

Minh Giang taxi cooperative in Di An town is a common home of veterans who were used to join in Cambodia battlefield. Thanks to joining of old comrades, trademark of Minh Giang taxi has been trusted by customers.

Truong The Minh, head of Minh Giang taxi, said “At present, my old comrades have held important positions in this cooperative. Thanks to their contributions, the taxi cooperative is under good operation”.
