fair in Dau Tieng district always get crowded with rural customers

Although only being implemented for a short time, the “Vietnamese give priority to using Vietnamese goods” campaign in the province has brought a lot of good results. Especially, the market fairs called “Bringing Vietnamese goods to the countryside” have helped rural customers herein to get access to hi-quality Vietnamese goods…

Good results from market fairs

Since early this year, provincial Department of Industry and Trade has cooperated with relevant agencies and localities to open six market fairs called “Bringing Vietnamese goods to the countryside” with the participation of nearly 100 strong businesses in and out of the province. Among them, the market fair organized at Dau Tieng Rubber One-Member Co.Ltd. was the most successful with total turnover reaching nearly VND1.3bln. The market fair in Phu Giao district’s Phuoc Hoa commune was also very successful, bringing in total turnover of nearly VND1bln.

The six market fairs also absorbed more than 60,000 rural customers. Nguyen Huu Ly, Deputy Director of provincial Center for Trade Promotion and Economic Information said that rural customers not only came to the market fairs for shopping purposes, but also learnt about the famous brand names of Vietnamese goods. The organization board also organized music shows, folk games; donated gifts to poor workers and households…, contributing to bringing success to these market fairs.

Also according to Mr.Ly, the success of these market fairs came from the efforts of provincial Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT), local authorities and businesses in and out of the province, namely Thanh Le General Export-Import Trading Corporation, ICC Co., Hoan Gia Viet Co., Long Thuan Co., Co.op Mart Suoi Tien…Participating businesses also donated gifts worth VND500,000 each to poor households and workers.

Further bringing Vietnamese goods to countryside

From now till late 2010, provincial DoIT will further join hands with relevant units to open four market fairs of the “Bringing Vietnamese goods to the countryside” program at Tan Dinh commune’s stadium in Tan Uyen district, Tan Long commune’s Cultural House in Phu Giao district, Thanh Tuyen commune’s stadium in Dau Tieng district and Long Binh primary school in Ben Cat district.

With the four market fairs, the “Bringing Vietnamese goods to the countryside” program will continue meeting the shopping demand of the local people in remote areas, contributing to eradicating counterfeit and poor quality goods and ensuring food safety and hygiene for them. Nguyen Thi Dien, Director of provincial DoIT said: “The “Bringing Vietnamese goods to the countryside” market fair is a breakthrough of the province’s overall program on demand stimulus”.

In the coming time, provincial DoIT will further promote the “Vietnamese give priority to using Vietnamese goods” campaign, according Mrs.Dien. It is sure that the campaign will contribute to helping domestic businesses promote their brand names, products and services, increasing the market share of Vietnamese goods in the domestic market.
