Vietnamese trademarks dominate Binh Duong’s retail market

After 40 years of southern liberation, national reunification and nearly 30 years of renewal, Binh Duong has constantly developed and become one of the country’s localities with top flexible evolution.

According to 2014’s statistics, Binh Duong’s economic structure saw a strong shift with respective proportions of 60.8%, 36.2% and 3% in industry, services and agriculture.

The province’s total retail sales of commodities and services last year was more than VND103.49trillion. Of these, the domestic investment sector rose by 25.3% while the foreign investment sector reached a growth of 10.6% compared to 2013. The whole province is now home to 94 markets, 6 supermarkets and 8 plazas.

Possibly speaking, Binh Duong is a bright spot on Vietnam’s economic map with achievements in terms of renewal and international integration. The province is strongly absorbing domestic and foreign investors in business scopes, including retail trade.

Along with traditional markets, Binh Duong has seen a robust development in supermarkets and plazas, contributing to diversifying the local trade market. Among province-based supermarkets, Co.opmart is a favorite place for the local customers’ daily shopping.

Customers’ belief and love is the main reason for Saigon Co.op, operator of the Co.opMart supermarket chain to further expand its business activities by opening a new outlet in TDM city on June 25 ahead. This is the second Co.opmart outlet in the province.

Covering 4,650 square meters, the new outlet features a wide range of commodities, including foodstuffs, cosmetics, fashion items, toys, household utensils, household electrical appliances and souvenirs.

Vietnamese trademarks promoted

Like other branches of Co.opmart supermarket chain, 90% of commodities at Co.opmart Binh Duong 2 are made in Vietnam with modernly-equipped system plus convenient services.

Noticeably, the supermarket chain has always promoted the sale of Vietnam-made goods, contributing to create a firm platform for hi-quality Vietnamese goods.

In addition to production and business expansion, Co.opmart Binh Duong supermarket has actively got involved in social charity activities. It over time presented more than VND100mln to the poor and the disabled through provincial Fatherland Front Committee; donated houses of compassion to those in need of housing; took part in campaigns taking care of policy beneficiaries on Tet and great holidays launched by the local administration; got involved in the voluntary blood donation campaign…

Representative of Co.opmart Binh Duong supermarket said that all commodities herein have ensured common regulations on ISO 9001, food safe and hygiene…The supermarket has also implemented a phone order service, creating favorable conditions for housewives to take care of their families.

Along with other retailers in Binh Duong, Co.opmart has contributed to successfully realizing the local political tasks and set plans, including effectively carrying out the “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods” campaign; making plans on stockpiling goods, especially for essential ones in order to stabilize the market.
