Binh Duong has bounded for hi-tech production, of which IT industry is considered as a spearhead industry. Therefore, establishment of Viettel IDC Song Than (VIS) will bring great interests for many localities.

A large database center

VIS is located in Binh Hoa ward, Thuan An town on an area of 3,500sqm with the total capital of US$18mil. The center can accommodate 40,000 host computers under Tier 3, the set of the highest standards in Vietnam at present.

 

Viettel IDC Song Than helps develop local IT.

To meet the standards, VIS has equipped with 2 electric sources and used 8 generators and a 50,000 liter oil tank to run during 72 hours if power cut happens. Besides, VIS has equipped air conditioner system for server systems as well as professional fire control systems and so on.

Nguyen Xuan Huy, a manager of VIS, “For a long time, Viettel Corporation’s orientation of technology development has eyed large database centers. Even groups of FPT, Mobifone, EVN Telecom… have had large database centers nationwide. However, compared to scale and limit, Viettel’s database centers are more significant. At present, Viettel has developed 4 Vietnam’s biggest database centers including Lang Hoa Lac, Phap Van, HCMC and Song Than, of which the biggest center is Song Than”.

Interests

If businesses invest in building advanced database centers, they will have to spend a large amount of money. Meanwhile, both businesses involving in IT industry and large companies have presently been in need of database storing, website development… Therefore, VIS’ birth has developed information storing service for agencies and businesses.

VIS has also provided facilities for clients to place their host computers, leased host computers, database-storing services and allow them to recover data after natural disasters for example. Its clients can be governmental agencies, banks, securities companies, insurance companies, ICT companies and other enterprises.
