Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee: Be proactive, ensure safety to prevent control the Covid-19 for activities after Tet

On the afternoon of February 8, a provincial delegation led by Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, had a meeting with leaders of Thu Dau Mot City on a number of key tasks after the Lunar New Year 2022 occasion. Accompanied by Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; representatives of relevant departments, agencies and branches of the province.

To perform many important tasks right from earlier

At the meeting, on behalf of leaders of Thu Dau Mot City, Nguyen Thu Cuc, Chairman of Thu Dau Mot City People's Committee, reported on the organization plan of Ba Thien Hau Temple's Festival, public investment, the plan for students to go back to school after the Lunar New Year holiday and the enlistment in 2022 of the city.

This year, due to the complicated development of the Covid-19, to ensure safety in disease prevention and control, the City People's Committee issued a document on the temporary suspension of all types of festivals in the area, including the suspension of all kinds of festivals during the Lunar New Year 2022; stop unnecessary gatherings of people. Therefore, festivals of Holy Cross, the procession of the Lady's palanquin at Ba Thien Hau Temple (Phu Cuong ward) with the participation of many delegations of lions, monks, dragons, stilts, art troupes, and flower carts, Trieu Chau ancient gong music troupe will not be held this year. However, at Ba Thien Hau temple (Hoa Phu ward) this year, the procession of the Lady's palanquin is still held on February 9 (ie the 9th day of the first lunar month).

The provincial delegation led by Vo Van Minh (fifth from the right), Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, presented a flower basket to congratulate the four Chinese communities on occasion of Lunar New Year and Full Moon Festival in January.

In order to ensure disease prevention control, the scale of the Lady's palanquin procession ceremony was also shortened, the number of participants reduced by 50%. The Steering Committee for Social Security and Order of the January Full Moon Festival in Thu Dau Mot City has developed a plan to organize and perform works of social security, order, safety, fire prevention and fighting, environmental sanitation and food hygiene safety during the January Full Moon Festival.

Regarding capital construction, Nguyen Thu Cuc said that in 2021, Thu Dau Mot City has allocated capital for public investment in the area, reaching 97.02% of the planned target. In the 2022 public investment plan, the city allocates capital for 62 projects and works with a total expenditure of 1,148 billion 366 million VND. In which, the capital managed by the province is 895.975 billion VND, the capital decentralized according to criteria is 252.391 billion VND.

Regarding the operation situation of enterprises, workers returned to work at the beginning of the year after the Lunar New Year holidays, Chairman of Thu Dau Mot City People's Committee said that as of February 7, there were 115/251 enterprises resuming operations with about 18,600/25,584 workers (reaching 72.7%); 52 more enterprises resuming operations on February 8 and 84 enterprises from February 9.

Regarding the work of sending students back to school, 100% of schools in the city have built direct teaching plans and plans for disease prevention and control. As of February 7, preschool-level students who went directly to school again after the Lunar New Year reached 53.02%, primary school reached 55.3%, junior high school reached 63.9%. About 8.28% of primary school students and 0.63% of junior high school students are registered by their parents for online learning.

Regarding military recruitment, Thu Dau Mot City's target for 2022 is 280 young people, of which 245 are serving in the military and 35 serving in the police force. As planned, this year's ceremony of handing over and receiving enlisted men in the city will take place in about 20 minutes. The city will divide enlisted men into 5 groups, of which 4 will be assigned to military units and 1 will be assigned to the police.

To ensure good implementation of disease prevention control

Speaking at the meeting, Vo Van Minh said that in 2021, Thu Dau Mot City made very important contributions, actively worked with the province to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic, gradually recovered socio-economic activities. According to the Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, the January Full Moon Festival is a major festival of the province in general and Thu Dau Mot City in particular, contributing to meeting the cultural and religious needs of the people.

The province agreed on the view that cultural activities should gradually return to work in the "new normal" conditions, but must always be proactive and ensure safety in the prevention and control of the Covid-19. The Chairman of Provincial People's Committee also suggested that the city needs to prepare the procession of the Lady's palanquin in a thoughtful and meaningful way, ensure good disease prevention and control.

In addition, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also recommended Thu Dau Mot City must ensure sufficient quantity and quality, pay attention to, and guarantee safety in disease prevention control of the transferring of enlisted young men. Branches and levels in the city need to closely monitor and guarantee disease prevention control in schools when students return to school after the Lunar New Year holiday.

The Chairman appreciated the disbursement rate for public investment in the past year of Thu Dau Mot City; also suggested that the city pay special attention to speeding up disbursement for public investment in 2022 right from the beginning of the year; consolidate the Steering Committee for the implementation of the Resolution to replace Resolution 17-NQ/TU dated November 14th 2016 of the Provincial Party Committee on “Construction and development of Thu Dau Mot city in the direction of civilization, modernity, and smart city period 2016-2026 and the following years", Steering Committee of Tuong Binh Hiep Lacquer Village Project...

After working with Thu Dau Mot City, the delegation visited and extended Tet greetings to 4 Chinese communities; examined Nguyen Trai Primary School and the extension of Bach Dang Street (Phu Cuong Ward). At the destination, the delegation learned about the school's conditions, the progress of the Bach Dang Street extension project, and the preparation of all aspects for this year's Ba Thien Hau Temple Festival in the city.
