Update: 19-07-2013 | 00:00:00
Returning to Ben Cat district, Long Nguyen Base, legendary Iron Triangle and Duong Long, Bau Bang victory… remind us about sacrifice of martyrs, war invalids for national liberation so that future generations can keep in mind and show deep gratitude through warm compassionate houses. BIWASE Company gave a compassionate  house to Mr. Nguyen Van Trung born in 1944, living at Ben Don hamlet, Hoa Loi commune, Ben Cat district on June 14th 2013 Join hands for construction… Since the beginning of this year, the government of Ben Cat district has constructed and presented compassionate houses to martyr’ wife Bui Thi Thu (Long Nguyen commune), Nguyen Thi Te (An Dien commune) and war invalid Mr. Nguyen Van Trung. These houses were from contributions of the government, enterprises with VND60 mln each house and policy beneficiary families themselves. Mr. Trung was grateful to the CPV, the Government for helping him having a stable life. The local government has also presented other 30 compassionate houses to policy beneficiaries. Head of Ben Cat’s Labor – War Invalids and Social Affairs Office Mr. Bui Van Chien said, the whole district has about 80% policy beneficiary families given compassionate houses. In 2012, the district bestowed 23 houses worth VND2.113 bln and during the first 6 months of 2013, the government built up other 7 houses worth VND757 mln including over VND1 bln from provincial budget, VND60 mln from the district’s budget, VND565 mln from enterprises and VND1.105 bln from families themselves. Socialization of compassionate house giving has spread extensively by all people and even policy beneficiaries themselves. Thereby, by July, the district has finished 4 houses, and up to the end of the year, notably the next National Day September 2nd, other 9 new houses will have transferred to local policy beneficiary families. Purchasing of furniture for compassionate houses Ben Cat district also pays attention to purchase furniture for compassionate houses. Officials of district’s Labor – War Invalids and Social Affairs Office said: “Some houses of policy beneficiary families were constructed tens of year ago and were worth VND2.5 mln each house because of the sour economy, thus now are downgraded. We have suggested repairing these houses. However, the repairing has to be done gradually”. In 2012, the district renovated 51 houses worth VND1.480 bln, and is planning to reconstruct other 21 houses during the last 6 months of 2013. According to Mr. Chien, Ben Cat district provided furniture for 40 houses including 10 heroic Vietnamese mothers, 20 poor households with total money amount of VND1.224 bln supplied by provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee. In addition, until September 2nd, besides presenting compassionate houses, the district will have also offered furniture such as wardrobes, tables, chairs, and some other things to policy beneficiaries. In spite of these positive achievements, Ben Cat district has not been contented with themselves, because there are still 2 or 3 underprivileged households in the district. “By all means, we will support capital, experiences of production, business activities and give compassionate houses in order for poor households to better themselves”, confirmed Mr. Chien.
