Former young volunteers visiting revolutionary bases
Provincial Former Young Volunteers’ Society forwards its conference for the 2010 and 2015 tenure today, July 10. In the last tenure, the society worked effectively with many activities taking good care for the lives of its members, so it was seen as the common of house for the local former young volunteers.
The society now has 365 members who work and live in the province. In 2009, there were 184 members enjoying the State’s policies. The society also suggested the State and Party to award the title “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” to martyr Dang Cong Luan. Its members made efforts in helping each other with many significant activities such as upgrading and building 26 houses worth VND520mln for 26 needy former young volunteers in and out of the province.
On the annual Tet festivals, the society mobilized nearly 200 gifts for needy members. Its members also helped each other develop homebased business with a non-interest-rate loan-giving program of VND110mln.
One of its meaningful activities over time was to team up with the Liaison Committee of the Young Volunteers Brigade for the Liberation of South Vietnam to find 48 sets of war martyr remains of soldiers and gathered tomb of martyr, hero of the people’s armed forces Doan Thi Lien together with 300 tombs of unknown martyrs for reburial in province-based martyrs’ cemetery….
In the last tenure, 12 members of the society attended the national conference highlighting outstanding former young volunteers. Members of the society also got involved in social charity activities and actively responded to the campaign “Studying and following Uncle Ho’s exemplary morals” with the slogan “Setting bright examples according to Uncle Ho’s teaching and exemplary morals. Many cultural and sports clubs for the society’s members were also set up with the goal of creating useful playgrounds for them…
