Women in My Phuoc township actively take part in patriotic emulation movement

In response to the patriotic emulation movement launched by the Vietnam Women’s Union, women in Ben Cat district’s My Phuoc township has constantly studied, creatively worked and actively built happy families in association with the campaign “Studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s exemplary models”. The township’s Women’s Union has gained reaped encouraging achievements as a result of the above efforts.

Many good models have been discovered from the patriotic emulation movement “Women study hard, work actively and build happy families”. As of late 2009, the local Women’s Union saved VND27mln, 4,750 kg of rice, more than 216,000 kWh of power and 1,210 working days…via the models of “piggy bank”, “charity rice jar”…All the above savings were used to help needy members, the lonely elderly, poor-but-excellent pupils.

 

Through the movement, there have appeared lots of exemplary role-models, namely Dang Thi Tieng, Nguyen Thi Be, Nguyen Thi Dung…in the campaign “Studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s exemplary models. The local Women’s Union has also teamed up with relevant agencies to make the dissemination of laws to women, raising their knowledge and capacity in the new context.

 

Such these apart, the local Women’s Union has mobilized organizations and individuals to build and hand over compassion houses to disadvantaged women; teamed up with the local conciliation group to deal with 162 cases relating to women and children; kept a close watch on 15 family violence cases…

 

The local Women’s Union has also promoted the movement “Women helping each other in economic development”. Particularly, it provided loans for 542 turns of women to develop homebased business; mobilized 56 well-off women to offer help to 105 poor ones; well realized the “Day for Poor Women” movement…

 

With substantial deeds, the local Women’s Union has contributed to reducing the ratio of the local poor households. Realizing the importance of building up prosperous, equal, advanced and happy families, members of the local Women’s Union has actively taken part in the campaign “All people unitize to build a cultural life in residential areas”; paid attention to programs taking care of mothers and children’s health; provided monthly allowances for 14 poor-but-excellent pupils.
