Youths of gratitude

Update: 27-07-2024 | 15:18:37

In commemoration of the 77th anniversary of the Day of Martyrs (July 27, 1947 to July 27, 2024), youth organizations at all levels in the province have organized various activities to remember the heroes, martyrs, and express gratitude to those who have contributed. These activities aim to help the younger generation appreciate the historical value and great sacrifices of their ancestors for national independence.

Youth unions of Binh Thang and An Binh in Di An city organize "Journey to the Red Addresses" at the Museum of the 4th Military Region.

Meals of gratitude

Visiting Mr. To Huu Phuc, a 4/4 veteran in Hieu Liem commune of Bac Tan Uyen district, the youth union members and district youth union officials cleaned the house, and cooked a warm meal with him. After preparing the meal, the youth union members dined together with the family in conversations and shared joys in life. The meal was joyful, close, warm, and meaningful gratitude from the young people to the older generation.

Young people also get to hear Mr. Phuc talk about the stories of the two heroic resistance wars against the French colonialists and the American imperialists, with days of bombs, smoke, difficulties, and hardships that our soldiers and people fought bravely to achieve the peaceful life we have today. Mr. Phuc reminds young people to follow the example of the previous generation, always be the vanguard force, and make every effort to fulfill the assigned tasks well.

Secretary of the Bac Tan Uyen District Youth Union, Mr. Do Ngoc Loi, said: "In addition to the 'Grateful Meal' activities, the grassroots union also organizes visits and gifts for families with revolutionary contributions in the district. Through these visits to families with revolutionary contributions, young union members hear stories and sacrifices during the difficult wartime. Thereon, young union members learn the spirit of overcoming difficulties and strive for a better life."

During the series of activities commemorating the Day of Invalids and Martyrs, the Youth Union in the province organized young members to clean up and beautify the landscape at the households of policy beneficiaries and people with meritorious services. Not only that, the Youth Union also organizes the "Soldiers drink water remember the source" day with activities of visiting, giving gifts to heroic Vietnamese mothers, families with merits, wounded soldiers; at the same time mobilizing resources, contributing labor days for construction, repairing houses of charity and organizing medical examinations, treatment, and free medicine distribution for socially-privileged families and wounded soldiers.

Education of traditions

Activities of gratitude and response are closely associated with traditional education for children and are regularly and widely organized by the Youth Union, the Association, and the Team. With a grateful heart, remembering the contributions of the heroic martyrs, in the month of July, the Youth Union organizes activities for children to learn about the historical revolutionary relics of the homeland and engage in volunteer activities and expressions of gratitude.

In Di An city, Bình Thang Ward and An Bình Ward organized the "Journey to the Red Addresses" in 2024 at the 4th Corps Museum. Participating in the journey, young people listen to the introduction of the history of the corps and the museum. The journey is one of the activities that help young people understand more about the local historical relics and educate them to be grateful to the heroes and martyrs.

In Hoi Nghia Ward (Tan Uyen City), the Youth Union organized a campaign to clean up the memorial monument of Team 8 in Block 4. During the campaign, the youth members illuminated the surrounding grass, cleaned up the area, wiped the memorial monument, planted golden bells and flowers, swept and picked up trash, and removed weeds around the area.

Mr. Le Tuan Anh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Youth Union, affirmed that the youth of Binh Duong always remember the contributions of the previous generations. The Youth Union from the province to the grassroots level organized candle lighting ceremonies to express gratitude at martyrs' cemeteries, memorials, commemorative monuments, recognition projects, graves, and martyrs' shrines.

Along with that, the grassroots unit coordinates with the youth union of agencies, enterprises, armed forces, and schools to organize "Green Sunday" where young volunteers participate in environmental sanitation, repairs, renovations, and planting more trees at temples and memorial monuments. Many Youth Union bases still organize propaganda activities with the content of showing documentary clips to learn about the circumstances of the birth and the significance of the Day for War Invalids and Martyrs, as well as the work of taking care of the lives of families of war invalids and martyrs, and people with meritorious services.
