Over the past five years, patriotic emulation movements created a livid picture of the province’s agriculture and rural development, contributing to promoting the sector’s sustainable development.

One of highlights from the patriotic emulation movements of the province’s agriculture and rural development sector during the 2015-2020 period was to boost agricultural production towards comprehensive and modern development, forming up concentrated goods producing areas, enhancing added values and sustainable development.

The model of orange growing under VietGAP standards brings hi-economic efficiency to farmers in Phu Giao district

In the 2015-2020 period, the province’s agro-forestry-fishery production value reached the annual growth of 3.75% or 2.5% of the local economic structure. The province’s agricultural structure was shifted towards urban and hi-tech agricultural models, generating valuable commodities with food safety ensured. The average income per capita of people in the rural region was estimated at VND65million per year. The average value of agricultural products reached more than VND100million per hectare per year. Cooperative economic organizations, including farms, played an important role in the local agricultural production.

Some hi-tech agricultural models in the province have so far brought hi-economic efficiency to farmers. For example, the rock melons growing model of Kim Long hi-tech agricultural cooperative in Phu Giao district has reached the annual revenue of around VND2billion per hectare per year. The citrus fruit trees growing model of districts in the northern region of the province has gained the annual revenue of VND700million per hectare per year. Noticeably, the average revenue of Lam Thanh Thuong’s farm in North Tan Uyen district has gained more than VND1billion per hectare. Or, the model of banana growing under VietGAP standards has obtained the productivity of 50-60 tons per hectare with the annual revenue of more than VND450million per hectare…

The emulation movement of “joining hands in new-style rural construction” also took place animatedly across the province over the past time. So far, there have been all 46 communes recognized as new-style rural ones…The province’s rural infrastructure facilities have got more perfect with effective production models, thereby contributing to enhancing the quality of people’s life.

As of late 2020, the province’s total area for cultivation is estimated at more than 160,000, including more than 5,345 hectares for hi-tech agricultural production, 3 times higher than 2015; 150 hectares for urban agricultural production…Possibly speaking,  emulation movements have contributed to the sustainable development of the local agriculture and rural development sector. For achievements done over the past 5 years, many collectives and individuals in the whole sector were awarded the Labor Medals of the State President; the certificates of merit of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Agriculture-Rural Development, provincial People’s Committee Chairman and many other emulation titles.

Pham Van Bong, Director of provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that the sector’s orientations for patriotic emulation movements in the next five years are to make a new development step in agricultural production and rural development for restructuring in association with new-style rural construction; boost administrative reform, enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of State administration; actively advise provincial People’s Committee on issuing policies in line with the local conditions, promoting the local agriculture and rural development.

Whilst, Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee also spoke highly of achievements done by the sector over the past five years while suggesting the sector to set up more concrete emulation movements in association with disseminating, replicating role-models in all aspects of social life; strengthen sci-tech application, production models under VietGAP standards; continue effectively carrying out the national target program on new-style rural construction…
