‘Charity house’ program helps countless poor youths

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, there were first charity houses granted to local poor youths. Thuan An town Youth Union alone offered 4 charity houses for 4 disadvantaged youths in Vinh Phu, An Thanh wards and An Son commune. These are really a significant gift and deed to share difficulties with needy youngsters.

In the 2011-2015 period, the province will grant 100 charity houses in total to poor youths. In this year, leading in the program, Thuan An town youth union has mobilized local youths to grant 4 charity houses to needy youths.

On March 23, Tran Duy Phong, a poor youth in An Thanh ward was very happy as receiving a charity house from Thuan An town youth union.

Nguyen Thi Hoang Oanh, vice chairwoman of An Thanh ward People’s Committee, said with support from local youths and unionists, Phong enjoyed a new house. She hoped to have more charity houses granted to local needy youths.

Thai Van Thuan, head of Thanh Loc quarter in An Thanh ward, said granting charity houses to poor youths shows a humanitarian deed, helping poor families.

Luong Minh Tan, the town youth union secretary, said in the Youth Year 2011, the town youth union has launched significant deeds, educating youths and unionists about charity.
