2015 Action Month for Food Safety launched in Di An

Di An town’s Steering Board of Food Safety has just held a ceremony to launch the 2015 Action Month for Food Safety.

At the ceremony, representative of the Steering Board stressed: “Ensuring food safety plays an important role in improving people’s health. The local authorities, management agencies and mass organizations need to effectively take measures to minimize food poisoning cases; speed up law dissemination on food safety and hygiene among food processers, traders and customers; strengthen inspection work to minimize food poisoning cases and diseases transmitted by foods; strictly punish food processing and trading facilities violating regulations on food safety.

In 2014, the local functional agencies made inspection tours to more than 3,000 food processing, trading facilities, collective kitchens and food trading households; gave administrative punishments for 48 wrong facilities with a total fine of nearly VND110mln.
