50th anniversary of Phuoc Thanh Victory

Phu Giao district Party Committee, People’s Committee and People’s Council and the then Phuoc Thanh province liaison committee just held a 50th anniversary of Phuoc Thanh Victory (Sept. 18, 1961-2011) with the participation of provincial leaders, heroic mothers from Phu Giao, Tan Uyen, Ben Cat districts and soldiers and officers of the then Phuoc Thanh province as well as over 200 members of Phuoc Thanh province liaison committee.

At the anniversary ceremony, on behalf of the then Phuoc Thanh province liaison committee, head of the committee delivered a speech to track back glorious tradition of Phuoc Thanh provincial soldiers and people, especially Phuoc Thanh glorious feat of yore.  

Upholding the tradition of soldiers and people of Phuoc Thanh of yore, Phu Giao district Party Committee, authority and people have spared no efforts to overcome difficulties and challenges to win great achievements after 50 years of Phuoc Thanh liberation, over 30 years of the Southern liberation and over 25 years of renewal and 12 years of re-establishment of Binh Duong province.

Since the re-establishment of Binh Duong province, Phu Giao district economy has developed constantly with an economic growth of 12.67% in 2010, per capita income of VND15.7mil per year and so on.

Addressing the anniversary, Binh Duong provincial party committee vice secretary Vu Minh Sang expressed his wish that the district party committee, authority and people should unite and be self-motivated in building the district to deserve victory of yore. Earlier, provincial leaders paid a floral tribute to fallen combatants at the district Martyr Cemetery, Phuoc Thanh provincial memorial stele and Phuoc Thanh victory statue.
