Phu Giao continues its golden historic pages

50 years ago, Phu Giao was famous for its Phuoc Thanh victory, a pride of Binh Duong people and army in particular and the country in general. Today, the locality has combined general strength from people to create positive changes.   Phuoc Vinh township- hub of Phu Giao district.

Constant economic growth

Phu Giao is an agricultural district with advantages of rubber, cashew planting… Over years, with the locality party and people’s efforts, the locality has exploited its potentials to develop local socio-economy.

The district People’s Committee chairman Vo Van Ba, said developing agriculture in particular and local economy in general have showed remarkable changes. The local growth reaches 12.67% per year and average income wins VND15.7mil per capita per year. Phu Giao has had big areas specializing in of cashew, pepper, rubber cultivation. The entire district now has over 600 farmsteads, each with over 9ha. At present, the locality has focused on developing agricultural and rural areas in line with the 10th Central Party Executive Board’s Resolution No. 26-Nq/TW dated Aug. 5, 2008 on agriculture, farmer and rural area.

Moreover, Phu Giao annually reaches an average growth of over 16% in industry and handicraft. Many large scale processing facilities of rubber latex, cashew and manioc … have been built. This area has accounted 30% of local economic structure.

Poor household rate declines sharply

Along with economic development, Phu Giao has paid attention to social activities and national goal programs with many remarkable results. In terms of health field, healthcare in the locality has reached significant results.

Job generation and poverty reduction are one of highlighted programs winning big results in the locality. Annually, Phu Giao places jobs for 700 laborers. Especially, the rate of local poor household declines sharply.

Moreover, since 1999, the district has granted 199 gratitude houses and about 600 charity houses to privileged and poor people.

New rebound in Phu Giao

Upholding heroic tradition, Phu Giao district party committee has launched the 3rd term district party committee congress’ resolutions of winning average economic growth of 12-13%, per capita income of VND30mil per year, a 2.5-3.5% decrease in poor household rate…

To reach the goals, the locality has focused on local socio-economic development and new rural building. Initially, Phu Giao has hastened completion of key works and launched projects of eastern belt road, trade center, culture center, children house and spurred construction of farm produce processing factories and animal food factories…

Phu Giao’s development process will surely create new rebound for following development. The success will increase tradition of a heroic land winning historic glories of yore.
