The 55th anniversary of Vietnam People’s Navy (May 7, 1955-2010) just took place at the provincial Culture Center with the participation of numerous of local leaders, delegates and soldiers. Vu Minh Sang, chairman of the local People’s Council said that the event helped local people and youths learn about the glorious history of Vietnam Navy. On the occasion, local administration and agencies and local youth union granted a motor boat worth over VND3,9bil and 10 computers and 2 television sets worth nearly VND100mil to the Naval Military.

Also at the ceremony, the organizing board of the contest on sea, islands and the 55th tradition of Vietnam People’s Navy summed up and granted awards to excellent individuals and workgroups. The contest lured 134,770 entries, the highest record among the sea and islands contests so far.
