June 14, Steering Board of Blood Donation Drive of the province held a ceremony to appraise 654 families and individuals who engaged in 5 to 50 times of blood donation.Up to date, the province has 108 volunteer blood donation teams with 3,498 members and 1,178 sideline members. The club of rare blood types with 20 members is also set up. In two years from 2010 to 2011, the province has helped to collect 17,013 blood units ready for treatment of thousands of patients in need of blood transfusion.Mr. Huynh Van Nhi, Deputy Chairman of People’s Committee, Chief of the steering board highly appreciated achievements of the blood drive despite the fact that only 80% of demands were met.
