A significant green Sunday

In the Youth Month 2015, Di An town youth union held work of green Sunday at Ma 35 historic relic in Tan Phuoc quarter, Tan Binh ward. This is the typical work for a green, beautiful and clean environment.

About 7 a.m on a day of April, youths and unionists of Di An town gathered at Ma 35 historic relic to prepare for green Sunday. After the launching ceremony, youths and unionists offered incense and flower to martyrs at memorial stele.

Pham Minh Hieu, cadre of Dong Hoa ward youth union said “Visiting Ma 35 historic relic, I learn more about national history. In 1947, 35 soldiers were executed in a mass bury. Till the anti-US resistance war, Tan Phuoc’s more than 100 cadres, soldiers scarified in a struggle. I am very proud of homeland tradition where left great historic value for young generation”.

After the incense offering, young people divided into groups to clean the historic relic, mobilize local residents to raise awareness on environmental hygiene, dredge So spring with the total length of more than 400 meters.

Ngo Trong Thang, unionist of Tan Thang quarter youth union in Tan Binh ward said “So spring offers water for local agricultural production. I am very happy to help local farmers ensure water for cultivation”.

According to Tran Van Thao, vice secretary of Tan Binh ward youth union, the work is very significant in voluntary movement, contributing to improve quality of movement, and create good response in the society. The work is under activities of welcoming the 40th anniversary of the Southern liberation and national unification day.

In addition, the green Sunday in Ma 35 historic relic helped to disseminate and mobilize people to participate in keeping hygiene for streets, public areas, residential areas, contributing to build a civilized urban area.

“Green Sunday is a peak activity in response to the 2015 campaign of “Clean up the world” and is also one of key deeds of the Youth Month. The work is implemented at Tan Binh ward with the purpose of educating and promoting national tradition by detailed deeds for the community and society”, Tran Bao Lam, secretary of Di An town youth union.
