Last part: Taking good care of laborers’ lives
After 20 years of operation, VSIP has lured nearly 130,000 laborers. This is one of the province’s successful symbols in investment attraction along with a large number of laborers. Hence, the local government, Trade Union, companies…have always paid attention to taking good care of laborers’ lives…
Good care
Luu Van Phuong, a worker of Sato Sanyo Company in VSIP 1 in Thuan An suffered a brain injury after a traffic accident on the way back home. This made him become half-paralyzed with the rate of disability at 82%. His family also fell to pieces when his wife went away. In such grievous circumstance, the company, VSIP Management Board, Trade Union offered timely help to the unlucky worker, helping him further work and being a useful citizen for the society.

Many other needy cases also received material and spiritual help from the VSIP Management Board and Trade Union. In 2010, the “Mutual love, mutual affection” Fund of the Trade Union was established to take care of needy trade unionists. The fund has so far absorbed the participation of 143 units with existing money of VND211million. After 4 years of operation, it has highly been appreciated in terms of transparency…, contributing to assisting laborers and their families when facing difficulties.
Significant activities

Investors will also feel more secure when laborers receive attention from trade unions at all levels…For that reason, the Trade Union in collaboration with the VSIP Management Board and VSIP JVC over the past time made efforts in taking care of laborers’ spiritual and material lives via cultural-sports activities, fairs of goods with stabilized price…On the 2016 Tet (Lunar New Year) festival, the Trade Union gave 130 bus tickets, 825 gifts for poor laborers and those hit by labor accidents with a total value of approximately VND412million.
The VSIP Management Board has also tried to mobilize enterprises to take good care of their laborers. Showa Gloves Vietnam Company in VSIP 1 is a typical example for this. The company has so far constructed a four-storey dormitory with 134 rooms for its workers. Currently, the company plans to build such two tenement houses, helping its workers keep their mind on work and have a long attachment with it.
Not only taking the lead in state-of-the-art equipment and machines, Rohto-Mentholatum Vietnam Company in VSIP 1 has also carried out practical activities for the sake of the community, including providing free eye check-ups for pupils at high schools, awarding scholarships to poor pupils…
Or, Esquell Company in VSIP 1 has also paid more attention to giving care for laborers’ lives. The company now has a total of around 1,000 laborers and their lives are well ensured, thanks to policies on health insurance, social insurance, welfare, bonus and allowance sufficiently implemented…In addition, the company’s Trade Union has made efforts in taking care of laborers’ lives via practical activities, comprising of maintaining a section selling essential goods at basic price. The Trade Union has so far also honored 6 collectives and 54 individuals having excellent achievements in saving people and protecting assets; mobilized laborers to take part in maintaining social order and security…
Possibly speaking, laborers when taking jobs in province-based VSIPs have received good care in both spiritual and material lives. This has helped them keep their mind on work, contributing to the common success of the VSIPs.
