Becamex trademark of Becamex IDC Corp. has spread many countries and territories. Over the past 30 years, Becamex IDC Corp. has made prestige through large-scaled projects for the sake of local socio-economic development. After re-establishment of Binh Duong province in 1997, Becamex IDC Corp. focused on industrial infrastructure development, traffic and urban network. Many experts assessed that Becamex IDC is a tireless initiator for local renewal.

The forerunner of Becamex IDC Corp. is Ben Cat Industry Trade Company. After re-establishment of Binh Duong province in 1997, the company renamed Becamex Corp. In 2006, Becamex IDC Corp. is established on the reorganization of Becamex Corp. under the form of mother company with 2,600 employees and VND4.5tril in chartered capital.

Firstly, Becamex IDC cooperated with Singaporean groups to build Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park Joint Venture Company 1 at Thuan An district. The project has become a typical industrial park model, creating hallmark for building other IPs. Becamex IDC and its member companies have invested and managed 6 IPs in the province with the total zoned area of about 13,000ha, an IP in Binh Phuoc province with the total area of 4,500ha and 2 IPs in Northern provinces with about 2,300ha.

These IPs have lured more than 750 projects from 24 nations and territories with the total capital of about US$6.3bil, placing jobs for hundreds of thousands of laborers. Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China… are nations having high investment capital sources in the IPs. Becamex IDC Corp’s IPs have become an ideal destination for investors.

The second key project invested in the form of BOT includes Binh Duong Avenue linking with the HCMC and Central Highlands provinces. The avenue route includes 6 lanes with width of 28-36 meters and length of 62 km. The route is considered a lever for local socio-economic development and goods exchange between Binh Duong and the Southern key economic zone. Besides, the Corp. has launched a 35km long high speed project of My Phuoc – Tan Van, linking local IPs with the Southern key economic zone.

In addition, the Corp’s is the investor of 4,196ha Binh Duong industry-service-urban complex including 1,800ha for IPs, 612.7ha for hi-class service area, 1,662ha for resettlement area. This is a key project and breakthrough for local rapid and sustainable development of socio-economy.

After over 4 years of launching, the Corp. basically completed 7 key routes with the total length of 34.4km, 3 main water drainage routes and telecom, water system… 6 IPs in the complex have so far lured many investors. VSIP 2 alone has attracted the investment capital of more than US$1bil with large projects of Mapletree ($110mil), Twin Dove Golf… At 8 resettlement areas, Becamex IDC Corp. built a 120km route, water supply system, markets, trade centers, parks… At present, more than 1,210 households of 4,060 people are living in the area and more than 5,000 workers are working at IPs.

Especially, the Corp. invited foreign consultants and the National University of Singapore’s Architecture Institute to zone the Binh Duong New City (1,000ha) in the complex. The new city will be a central-run city by 2020 with the main items of concentrated politic-administration center, conference center, int’l exhibition area, Eastern Int’l University, trade, financial centers, hotels, hi-grade apartments, eco-villa area… The new city will cater for 125,000 people’s life and over 400,000 people’s work.

By such contributions, local leaders assessed that Becamex IDC Corp. is a local staple business.
