Binh Duong accompanies investors in development

In the first six months of 2024, Binh Duong continues being one of the country’s leading localities in attracting both domestic and foreign investment capital. To remain a promising destination, Binh Duong has focused on developing infrastructure facilities and improving the investment environment, consistently facilitating enterprises’ production and business activities.

Strengthening confidence

Early July 11, provincial People's Committee held a conference to meet English-speaking businesses. The conference was co-chaired by Mai Hung Dung, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee and Pang Te Cheng, Consul General of Singapore in Ho Chi Minh city. The event was attended by leaders of departments, sectors and representatives of over 80 foreign enterprises operating in Binh Duong.

According to Le Thanh Toan, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Planning and Investment, Binh Duong has always been one of the country’s top provinces in attracting FDI, due to its open and attractive investment environment. Binh Duong is entering a new phase in investment attraction, prioritizing the digital economy, green economy, and environmentally friendly practices based on high-tech applications…Currently, Binh Duong has become a manufacturing destination for many quality projects.

Amid a slowdown in investment into the province, Binh Duong has made relentless efforts and had new, drastic ways in economic management, improving the investment and business environment in the right direction, which has been acknowledged and highly appreciated by the business community and investors. Many foreign investors have continued choosing Binh Duong for long-term development.

Pang Te Cheng, Consul General of Singapore in Ho Chi Minh city, has spoken highly of the dynamic development and investment environment of Binh Duong. According to him, investors are very impressed with the province's achievements and potential, especially its well-built and modern infrastructure and traffic systems. Through dialogue conferences, businesses have also been encouraged by the efforts and determination of the province in creating a transparent, fair and attractive business environment.

To share and support FDI enterprises to solve difficulties, the province has organized many meetings and dialogues to listen to businesses and facilitate the rapid stabilization of production and business activities. At the dialogue, most businesses agreed that although they are still affected by negative impacts, in the long run, Binh Duong remains an attractive investment destination.

Nguyen Minh Tam, Director of Modelez Kinh Do Vietnam Company’s External Relations and Communications said that the company's factory in Binh Duong is a world-class production facility, with machinery, equipment, and production processes adhering to quality and safety standards with Halal and FSSC 22000 certifications. The factory has also achieved good results in green production, energy saving, emission reduction and waste reduction, significantly contributing to creating a sustainable environment.

"Binh Duong's continuous direct dialogues with businesses demonstrate the local efforts to improve the investment and business environment practically and simplify administrative procedures. This also helps build trust and motivation for foreign businesses to expand production and business in the locality", Mrs. Tam shared.

At the conference, departments and sectors thoroughly answered businesses' concerns regarding issues such as VAT refund regulations, work permits for foreigners, construction permits, investment tax incentives, and business expansion…

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Dung, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee said that Binh Duong understands FDI enterprises ’obstacles. Through the dialogue conference, provincial leaders aimed at grasping more fully, clearly and specifically production and business activities as well as businesses’ difficulties for timely settlement. Conversely, foreign businesses also gained more information about the province's socio-economic situation, what the provincial government has done, is doing, and will continue to do in the future, thereby enhancing understanding, sharing and community responsibility for joint development.

Mr. Dung affirmed that Binh Duong will further focus on improving the investment environment, simplifying administrative procedures, promptly publicizing administrative procedures and processes. The province is prioritizing resources to continue investing in infrastructure, creating clean land funds, training human resources, building social housing units for workers, providing timely and sufficient labor resources for businesses investing in the province. The province also focuses on developing high-quality services to meet the production and business requirements of businesses and the industrial and urban development needs of the province. 2024 is forecasted to be challenging and Binh Duong is determined to always accompany businesses to stabilize production, business activities and make strong breakthroughs.
