As an industrial locality with stability of total retail revenues, Binh Duong is now an attractive destination for domestic and foreign businesses in field of supermarket and plaza investment. This will help the local trade infrastructure development go in a right direction and greatly contribute to promoting the sustainable growth of the local trade and services sector.

  

Customers are switching to buying goods at supermarkets and plazas

 

Dr.Dinh Thi My Loan, vice chair and general secretary of the Vietnam Retailers' Association said: “With a retail market having high revenue of VND33.29trillion in 2009, nearly VND19.5trillion in the first half of 2010 and annual growth at 30%..., Binh Duong is now a promising land for retailers at home and abroad who are interested in investing and building supermarkets and plazas”.

 

The whole province is currently home to 11 supermarkets and 5 plazas in operation, mostly in TDM town, Di An and Thuan An districts. Many plaza and supermarket projects like Becamex City Center, Phu Cuong, Goucoland…gets underway. In TDM town alone, two projects of the Metro trading center and Coop Mart supermarket is under completion and will put into operation on 2010’s Q4.

 

Possibly speaking, the quick development of supermarket and plaza systems in the province has well met the local people’s consumption demand and been in line with the society’s civilized consumption trend. Huynh Thi Thanh Xuan, director of Hai Long Private Enterprise-the owner of BD Mart supermarket system said that province-based supermarkets and plazas have greatly contributed to promoting the local retail system…

 

According to provincial Department of Industry and Trade, trade infrastructure like supermarket and plaza is very suitable to the sustainable development orientation of the local trade-services sector. Noticeably, the province’s market and plaza system developed in a right direction has made great contributions to the State’s policy in stabilizing market prices and stimulating consumption demand.
