Update: 06-06-2011 | 00:00:00

Binh Duong Daily had an interview with Hirunya Suchinai, senior investment adviser at BOI to know more about the investment prospect of Thai businesses in Vietnam in general and southern Binh Duong province in particular.

What are Thai investors interested in when making investment in southern Binh Duong province?

Thai investors talking with representatives of Binh Duong’s departments and agencies

In addition to investment policies, most investors are interested in the issues of labor cost, land-leasing prices, infrastructure, production ability…For Thai investors, Vietnam is seen as a country having hi-quality human resources and being a potential market compared to other countries in the region in the future.

Are there any Thai businesses deciding to make investment in Binh Duong after visiting and researching Binh Duong’s investment climate?

Most Thai businesses have set the initial goals for seeking investment opportunities in Vietnam. Their final decisions maybe depend on Vietnam’s potential foundations as well as partnership forms in line with Vietnam’s Investment Law. They have also made business connections in industries of packing, car battery, supportive food…after the above visit.

They are also seeking and considering the best investment ability after carefully checking in-depth documentary information.

What is your assessment of Binh Duong’s investment climate and industrial development? According to you, which does Binh Duong need to gain better development?

Binh Duong provincial People’s Committee has made best support to the province’s industries full of promise. We affirm that Binh Duong will have a policy to welcome investors in industries that use few laborers and those with high technologies. Vina Kraft Paper Company under Siam Cement Corporation has found out an opportunity to make investment in Binh Duong. We also hope that there will be more opportunities for Thai businesses making investment in Binh Duong.

Thai businesses are also interested in stability of the power supply source. If Binh Duong can improve this situation, Thai businesses will feel more confident when making investment in Binh Duong.

Thanks a lot!
