Binh Duong Provincial Party Secretary receives US Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City

Secretary of Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Loi receives US Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Susan Burns.

On February 16, Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee, Head of Provincial Delegation of the National Assembly, had a meeting with Susan Burns, Consul General of the United States in Ho Chi Minh City. Mai Hung Dung, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, also attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Nguyen Van Loi said that by the beginning of February, the province had 4,088 FDI projects from 65 countries and territories. The United States is currently ranked 13th among countries and territories having investment projects in Binh Duong, with 134 projects and a total capital of more than 1.35 billion USD.

The Provincial Party Secretary said that Binh Duong is developing a green economy, using clean energy, developing smartly and sustainably, promoting digital transformation, digital economy, digital society and digital government.  The province also constantly improves the investment environment to be open, friendly and responsible to investors. Therefore, the Provincial Party Secretary wishes that the Consul General would help and connect US businesses with Binh Duong, especially businesses in fields of green economy, smart, education - training of high-quality human resources...

Speaking at the meeting, Susan Burns thanked the provincial leaders for taking the time to receive the delegation; she expressed her impression of the province’s development. The Consul General also appreciated the province's green development, smart development, and digital transformation orientations in the coming time; said that these are also areas that interest US businesses.

The Provincial Party Secretary and the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City jointly proposed some cooperation activities, including connecting US educational institutions to train managers, English training for provincial staff, start-up activities... In the immediate future, the two sides will cooperate to organize a series of activities to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam - US Comprehensive Partnership in Binh Duong.
